Not the first time, he drove extremely intoxicated with son in 03, We were still married then. he is so defensive and believes he dosent have a problem. both of our sons 20 and 15 have nothing to do with him. was with him for 15yrs. this behavior is nothing new. trying to get court to order rehab or something.have protective order as of yesterday. would you feel guilty wanting rights revoked

I assume it’s just his rights to the 15 year old you’re talking about, correct? At that age, a court will listen to the child’s input, and so should you if he’s saying he doesn’t want to see his dad. You shouldn’t feel at all guilty.

no, i would not feel guilty revoking his parenting rights but i would feel guilty subjected my children to an alcoholic and subsquently putting them at risk.

You should have had his rights revoked in 2003 ,but you seem to have another chance .
He’s defensive because he knows he has a problem and doesn’t want your interference in his life .
He’s a danger to a young child … ball’s in your court.
Hell no … I never would feel guilty about keeping my child safe , even from the other parent . -

If you are trying to have his parental rights revoked, your children don’t have to see him if they want nothing to do with him. I used to refuse visitation from my father all the time and nothing came of it. If you are unsure, talk to a lawyer. Your ex sounds like a very dangerous man. I wouldn’t want to be on the road with him. I’m surprised they didn’t order rehab or AA when he got his public intoxication charge………
