My girlfriend and I have been together for appx. 5 yrs. During this time, I fell from a tree (ha ha), and, consequently shattered my hip. I was trimming limbs from a tree that hung out over the driveway. She was in fear of the auto’s, and, asked me if I could do something. I was out of work for 18 months, and, endured two corrrective surgeries. I am now, and have been back to work for over to years. I pay half of all the bills. I built an 18′x10′ deck with cedar hand rail. I moved 60, or more yards of dirt around her house to divert water away from the crawl-space. I rebuilt her well, saving her thousands on having a new one drilled. I put in a 600 sq. ft. walkway/sidewalk with individual pavers. I’ve probably done 35 to 40 thousand dollars worth of improvement to her home. I feel that I have returned the favor for her caring for me when I was injured.
Her teen-age boy does nothing. I bust my *** constantly. He does nothing. He is now 17. He does not have a job. He has a car though. He has everything handed to him. Because, his mother feels bad for the years that she was addicted to meth. So, her answer is to just give him whatever. After working all day, I came home to him laying in bed playing video games. He had taken the day off from school via the lie he told his mother about his sudden illness. He hadn’t fed or watered the dogs, he didn’t even let them out to relieve themselves. His comment to me when I asked him why he hadn’t let them out was, “they aren’t my dogs”. This is just a slice of the problem. She continually defends his laziness, and, anything I say about his behavior just makes me the bad guy. I feel like taking him outside and beating him within an inch of his life. I wouldn’t, but, that’s how I feel. It must be time to go. What do you think?
