I brought my son to a drug rehab center about 5 months ago but I don’t see any changes on him. He always feel depressed and seems he always crave for drugs. What should I do with this?
i’m glad you a caring parent, we need more like you.
when i went though this no one, not even my caring, well intentioning parents could help me until i cam to terms and wanted out. they were quite helpful until then just by chatting about anything and everything and taking me out and making me a part of their lives. (i say this to give tips, not to create a checklist. you know your son best)
some drugs leave a nasty craving that can last for a long time, a lifetime even. take him to his family doctor and chat with him/her. perhaps antidepressants or some therapy might be a good idea.
good luck.

the most you can do is be there for him! and make sure he does completes his weening off of drugs! let him wait it out, if things don’t get any better, seek more psychological help.

You just showed your love for your son by giving him the chance to change his ways and avoid drugs. I think finding the right outpatient drug rehab will make your son realize how important life is and how drugs ruin one’s life.

First and foremost, I think your son really needed intervention from professional. We have to realize first the root of why he is using drugs. I think he need counseling to let him bounce from the wall he is in right now. He might have a really big problem he’s been lifting in his shoulder. Talk to his friends and work together to make him change. He need the support more right now from you more than ever. This would be one of the biggest battle of his life.

You should consider dual diagnosis treatment. This is where the addict undergoes a normal addiction treatment program in conjunction with being psychologically evaluated and helped by psychologists and addictions counselors. Learn about dual diagnosis treatment here:
There may be underlying causes to his drug addiction, such as depression. The best thing you can do is to be a constant source of support for him. Drug addiction can have a very strong hold on an individual. You might want to consider detox programs that offer extended sober monitoring and sober assistance to prevent a relapse. Wishing you the best of luck.

Oftentimes patients who have been admitted to a rehabilitation center will relapse at one point or another. Try admitting your son again. The second time around might work. Try out new treatment options or different types of programs, as they may have a different impact on him than previous programs or treatments.
