what is stopping minors from buying alcohol online?

i mean, my son has a debit card, and im wondering how the law prevents kids from buying alcohol from online?

and if there isnt really a way to stop it, why dont teenagers just buy from online to begin with?

i actually dont have a problem with my kids drinking, so its not really a concern, just curioustiy
ok, but are packages marked that it has alcohol? how would the delivery guy know, or what happens if the parents just sign for it. i mean, they cant legally open their childs mail anyway

I think the delivery person can only deliver it to someone of age. Thats how it worked when my inlaws sent us some wine as a gift.

There’s nothing to stop minors buying alcohol in the shops.Easy to get someone else to buy it.

Most of them are probably too impatient. They don’t know they’re gonna be drinking until that very day. Also, a lot probably have never thought about it. I sure didn’t know you could do that.

But, as someone else said, I’m sure you’d have to produce ID when it was delivered. Remember on Sooper Troopers when they dropped off the keg at the party and busted the guys for being underage? Hah. Then the foreign guy came running out of the closet screaming, “I love acid!!!” /sigh I love that movie…

most states don’t even allow online purchases, so that helps

the few that do, are supposed to require the delivery person to ID the person that they deliver to.

most delivery companies allow comments to the deliverer, so that comment likely would have the info that its alcohol and requires him to ID.
