What do you think could happen with this kid if I don’t help him quickly?

Okay, heres my story. My son has been friends with his older male cousin(he’ll remain nameless) for many years. In fact his cousin considers my son his best friend. But lately I’ve been noticing that his cousin has been acting strange. In fact he gets weirder every year. I investigated his family. His dad is a low life alcoholic that beats him and has their German Shepard attack him. Then his Step mom is a psycho who is obsessed with looking younger and she constantly abuses verbally and psychologically her step son. Threatens to make him go sleep outside. Then his siblings leave garbage in his room and that causes his Dad to beat him and his mom to cuss at him. Now she won’t let him have any friends over. She says their idiots. And she no longer calls him by his name, she calls him stupid. Now here’s the bad part, the kid has been speaking less and less, harming himself, playing with knives,getting dangerously close to my son, and now wants to kill the family except for my son.
The boy has been cutting his face, and wearing masks to hide his “ugly” face. He draws pictures of his whole family burning in hell saying he “did God’s work and sent them there” and it shows a picture of him and my son(his cousin) in Heaven saying “we’re good boys and God’s perfect Angels”. BTW, my son is 7, the boy is 8. The Step mom goes out and brings home other men and has them strip in front of the boy and they make out. Also did I forget to mention the boy masturbates to dead things and mutilated things? He sometimes just sits and stares into space, doesn’t move or talk. I have no clue what could happen. I am worried he might try to harm people and come for my son.

This boy needs help before he really does hurt himself or someone else. He is severly depressed. He needs counseling and medication immediately. He made need to be removed from his home as well. It seems like his parents are not taking care of him. Be there for him and help him in any way u can before it is too late.

I would call Social Services or something to get help for this poor kid. In the meantime, I would try to keep your son away from him.

Report what you know to some sort of child welfare services. Then move as far away from this family as possible for your son’s sake.

o my gosh…the little boy needs help quickly…he is already damaged mentally,emotionally,and phisically…if u see this happening u need to step in….if not he is going to either kill himself…or kill his family….please step in…or anonomosly get the police or child services involved

Holly Shit. You have every right to be freeked out. I can’t believe this kid’s only 8. He could die if he stays with those horrible parents. Please please help him. Call the police, or a child protection agency. That is crazy. Your son probably is the only good person in this kids life so don’t take your son out of it, but try to tell the schools or something about this.

If he’s a minor I should make a report to child protective services, I think you even might be able to do that anonymously.
This guy needs immediate attention. He probably feels save with you younger son, because he won’t judge him and except him for who he is.
Auto mutilation is a serious concern and he needs help. I believe you do see these symptoms and give him an opportunity to be released from this situation.

There appears to be a lot of physical and emotional abuse occuring in this family. You can call child protective services and place and anonymous tip about the information you know. They are required to investigate every allegation. They can verify the information and get this kid into a safe place and press charges against the parent. They also can get the child linked up with counseling services immediately.

With you son, choose your best discretion when allowing your son around him. If you feel comfortable with your son around him the interaction should be supervised and you could possible talk to the child about you two together contacting social services.

If this is really true..you need to get him some help soon You need to tell social services or maybe even the police But I would ask them not to say it was you who told and I’d keep my son away from him and his family. I know he wants to help his best friend..but he needs more help than he can give him Where’s’ his birth mother?? Does the rest of your family know about this?You should tell them. Maybe together all of you can decide what to do. But you’d feel really bad if you didn’t get him help and something really bad happened.

Call Children’s Services. Immediately. Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200. Walk away from the computer RIGHT NOW and make the call. This child is very far along the path of psychosis, and may, actually, be beyond help. He needs to be removed from his home (the other children as well), put into a residential psychiatric treatment facility, and given large amounts of anti-psychotic medications and a whole lotta counseling. Personally, I think the parents should be prosecuted, jailed, and never be allowed out in society again.

DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO BE WITH HIM. Not alone, not with other children. Your son is at a very impressionable age, and could potentially begin to show similar symptoms – especially since this other child is someone he undoubtably looks up to. Not to mention the fact that the child is unstable, and could begin to see your son as a threat as well, and do away with him. I cannot tell you in any more serious way that you are taking your child’s life for granted by letting him play with this other child.

The temptation will be to accept responsibility for this cousin once Children’s Services has been called. Do not give into the temptation to “help” him. Unless you are a licensed psychiatrist or psychologist (and even if you are) you simply do not have the skills necessary to see him through this crisis, and it will be unsafe for your family to have him there. Go to the department of human services… that boy needs to be removed from the household ASAP… He is going to need to go through alot of psychiatric counseling in hopes that he may one day live a happy healthy life… but if he doesn’t he just might follow through with his threats… Verbal and emotional abuse are the most scaring and can affect the rest of one’s life… If you have this evidence you discuss in your question then turn it over… Please! He needs to get out of there and now! The police may even be able to remove him overnight and have human services follow up tomorrow morning with the evidence you provide… Help him… I would if I knew who he was and where he is… No child should EVER have to endure a household like that…

The boy needs help. First, I would start by calling social services/ Department of Child Services (DCS) to report the abuse that is going on in the home. By law (at least in my state, Indiana), anyone who knows about abuse that is occurring is mandated by law to contact DCS about the situation. When you call DCS, explain everything you mentioned here. You can report it anonymously. DCS will come to the child’s house and investigate the allegations of abuse. From there, DCS might decide to pull the boy (and his siblings) out of the home, depending on how much danger they feel they are in at this time. Do NOT feel bad for reporting this…you could be saving this boy’s life…or the lives of your family members.

Second of all, he needs some serious therapy. He sounds depressed, given the fact that you said he is harming himself, speaking less, etc. He also has anger issues given the playing with the knives and making homicidal threats. It is very important that he see a mental health professional for meds and therapy as soon as possible. If he becomes a threat to himself or others (suicidal threats/attempts, homicidal threats/attempts) you can take him to the hospital ER and they can treat him there and decide from there what should happen for him in terms of care (being allowed to go back home, placement on a psychiatric unit, etc)
