He is 28 years old has a 1 year old son and his girlfriend and baby just left him because of it. It hurts me a lot for what he is going through but what can I do to help someone that is in denial and does not want any help?

try finding a number for a local drug abuse help line and have an intervention for him. like to tell him he neeeds help and you’re not going to let him keep ruining his life because of his addiction.

I hate to say it, but you or someone else needs to turn him in. I have two very close friends that got caught after using for about 2 years. They lost everything and I couldn’t stand being around them. Now they have EVERYTHING to lose because they will be in lots of trouble if they get caught again They go to classes 5 nights a week. They hold steady jobs and have been clean for almost a year. It’s just too hard for an addict to stop. The authorities are the best ones to stop them. It’s harsh, but usually the only way. : (

Bring him to a rehabilitation center before it gets too bad, he will have an easier tie quitting before it gets too bad. Make him go see a therapist, and there are also drug hot line numbers. I am studying to be a alcohol and drug counselor, trust me, once you get hooked on meth it is VERY hard to quit. Don’t let him get to the point of being arrested, hospitalized, or even dead. Do it ASAP!!!

You can’t help him until he wants to help himself. He will have to hit rock bottom before that happens. Just keep your distance and be there when he needs, because he will need you one day. Hopefully sooner than later.
Don’t give him any money, because he has probably already ripped you off without you knowing.
