How Do I Get My Son Off Drugs?

I am a fully competent person. I have never been arrested. I have only gotten minor traffic tickets. I have never been an alcoholic or drug-addict. I raised by son from birth to six months old with no supervision but I do not have “proof” that I did. I took care of him unsupervised and did fine. I do not have any mental illnesses. She is saying I should pay an expert to supervise my visitation until the supervisor concludes I am capable of raising a child. I do not see why this is necessary because I am a fully competent person. In most cases I hear of a person is never required to have supervised visitation unless they were alcoholics, drug addicts, felons, etc.

Well I do not actually have any records because I am not his legal father yet. So, I am not allowed access to his files. She was around. I watched my son in the evenings when I got off work until the next morning and dropped him off before work.

On the 12th I got a restraining order against my ex (which is my son’s bio father). I had to write an affidavit telling the judge he was a drug abuser, he was abusive towards me, he was an alcoholic, and he has tried to commit suicide numerous times. I forgot to put in he even had put welts on my son and that my son has a scar on his bottom lip from him!!! Now, I was wondering, he can try to fight the RO on the 23rd. If he is like “I wanna see my son”, will the judge let him? If I have any say, Im just gonna tell the judge I want him to file for it and stuff. But, my question is How can I tell the judge about the abuse towards my son and will the judge let him see him??
I got the restraining order in the 1st place because he threatened me over the phone by saying “Ill beat the fuck out of you & take Stephen & no one will see him!”
Also, the restraining order IS for me and my son. It protects us both. Plus, my ex hasnt seen my son for over a year. Last date was July 2nd 2006. Last time he did cocaine that I know about was January 4th or 5th.

My ex filed for divorce in Az; I didn’t contest it & I allowed him to have full custody of both of my sons. 3 years later, he moved to Las Vegas, NV & didn’t tell anyone until almost 4 years later. In the mean time, I moved home to Va & ever since then he has refused to allow me to visit my boys. He is an alcoholic (he has DUI’s) & has had many arrests in the past 10 years. He fled AZ because he has warrants there & owes someone 7yrs. of back child support. My child support to them is current (it goes directly to AZ). I don’t know anything about NV or where to file to get my rights inforced. I believe that the boys would be better off with me so that there dad can get the treatment he needs. Can someone help me, this is just not fair to my boys or myself?
I am low income & do not have the money it will take to hire an attorney. Do you know anyone who will take my case for free or someone out there who just wants to do a good deed like Oprah?

my inlaws are total drug addicts and alcoholics as well. I have a son who is 4 years old and my wife and i decided to pull him away totally can they go for any kind of custody or visitation. A magistrate has allready said even if they were to petiotion the court would only give them like 1 hour a month. Is this true help.

anyone have a similar situation with grandparents as this is odd and usually its the parents who have problems. We would expect better from our elders not in this situation though.

I have primary residential custody and joint legal custody of my 6 yr old son. Alcoholic Ex didn’t give me any idea of when he wanted summer visitation until today. He wants to have my son for 5 weeks, broken up between now, into the month of October. My son goes back to school at the end of August, can he do that? I thought summer visitation was supposed to be taken during the summer break from school.

I am about to file for divorce & NEED to prove my husband is an alcoholic & will put our 3-year-old’s safety at risk. I know most judges will rule the alcoholic can’t drive the child or have him overnight, but I have no proof that my husband is a drunk!
He drinks at his home & doesn’t drive much. He hides vodka in his laptop bag so he can drink at work, but hasn’t been caught yet. Strangely enough, he is a brilliant IT director & very respected!
I know for a fact that he drink around the clock because he has physical withdrawals if he goes without alcohol one day. He physically can’t avoid alcohol in order to have visitation since he gets violently ill, so I know he’ll drink while caring for my son (even if the jugde orders him not to).
Since he has no DUI offenses & hasn’t lost jobs due to driking, what else can I do to prove he is an alcoholic & that he will put our son’s safety in danger?
BTW, he has driven my son while drunk…I just don’t have evidence to show the court.
I’ve thought of calling the cops when he leaves here drunk, but I doubt they will locate him while he’s on the road. They’d have to respond within seconds to catch him driving away.
I’ve also considered hiring a private investigator to track him & get proof, but doubt I can afford it.
Wow, there are some very angry people attacking me! He wasn’t an alcoholic when I met him 10 years ago. The drinking has become a problem the last 2 years.
The reason I am divorcing him is so MY SON won’t have to suffer life with his alcoholic father in the home. I also can’t stop my husband from driving him while drunk!
How dare anyone say I’m the one who is hurting my child. Divorce is incredibly painful for all of us, but in the end I have to protect my child!

In october my fiance’s EX (babymomma) hid her pregnancy had a child Little did we know she was on crystal meth Her son and her both tested positive for crystal. CPS took her son away and gave temp custody to HER mom. since the custody was 50/50 with my fiance and his EX, CPS called him to come get his daughter or she would be in the care fo CPS. He got her and hte court granted temp full custody.in November they went back to court,she was a no show and they granted my fiance full custody. Court said If she completeed 6 months of rehab she can go and see if she can get visitation. Its been 6 months and still not complete. We would let her go to her grandmas house since the Ex was not allowed near the boy. and we trusted the grandmna and took her word. We just found out the Ex moved in witht he mom and they tried hiding it from us and tellin the lil girl to not tell us. well she did. we plan on cutting ties but what are the gmoms rights? also the mom getting visitation or custody?
Mind you we have a 2 bedroom apt VERY nice with just him, myself, my daughter and her. The EX lives in a run down 2 bedroom apt with like seriously 7 people living there. HSe has not completed her treatment… but if she goes to court what are her chances?

Even though he was just recently arrested for possesion of meth but swears to everyone he is clean now but you can tell by looking at him he’s nit.

My ex boyfriend is trying to get visitation on our 2 year old son. I really don’t trust him because he is an alcoholic and he’s very irresponsible. I fear of him taking him by himself and drinking around my son and driving while my son is in the car. And my ex still stays with his grandma which is not a good environment. My sister is going through a child custody visitation battle with her two sons father. She was never married to the guy, thank god.

This guy is a conpulsive liar, confirmed by psyhicatrist. A theif, hes even tried to teach me how to steal from stores, and hes been caught stealing while he had small children with him with no other adult present. Hes stolen gas, and been caught doing it. And got put into jail for stealing from a detectives house. Ya stupid…

He manipulated my sister and beat her while she was pregnant with my nephew, there are witnesses.
Hes a drug abuser (just weed as far as I know), and claims hes addicted and just cant stop.

When it comes to his kids he has been in and out of their lives, my oldest nephew is almost 7 and barely knows his dad, almost doesnt at all. Hes only met his youngest son once ever. And hes 2 years old next month. He does not pay child support and is almost 3,000 behind. He only pays to keep himself out of jail.

He is trying to get visitation. He is so sure he is going to get it and I believe that he isnt because of his past and the way he has acted in the past and how much he has been in the kids life.

Now my sister has givin him plenty of chances to be in the kids life, but she has said enough is enough and doesnt let him see them untill he shows that he will do something.

But I need someone that REALLY, REALLY knows to tell me if he just may get visitation.

My brother’s ex-girlfriend (who is now married with a young child) is petitioning to have my brother’s parental rights terminated (he is a drug addict). While I do not wholly disagree with her, she does use my nephew as a pawn for control. She has an extremely long history of lying, as well as drug use herself. For example, she said she joined the National Guard, and then “didn’t have to go any more.” She has no separation papers to prove the military let her go. When I did tell her where to find my brother, she cut off all contact. She does not return my calls anymore (I was the only one she would speak to on my side of the family). My concern is that if my brother’s parental rights are terminated, I will have no legal right to see my nephew. Can I sue her for visitation rights even though I am his aunt? I’m not working right now, so I don’t have the money to hire a lawyer and I am at my wits end in this matter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MEAN WHILE DURRELL WAS JUST PUT IN JAIL FOR FAILING A DRUG TEST (HE GOT DRUG TESTED EVERY WEEK B.C HE WAS ON DRUG COURT FOR POSSESION OF COCAINE AND JUS GOT OUT OF A HALF WAY HOUSE WHEN I MET HIM) THEN DURING MY WHOLE PREGNANCY SHE HURASSED ME CALLING MY PHONE 100 TIMES A DAY & TEXTING ME THREATENING MY SONSLIFE AND MINE. AND SHE ACCUSED ME OF SETTING UP DURRELL AS IN GETTING HIM TRAPPED. AND SAYING THE BABY WASNT HIS BUT Y WOULD I PIN A BABY ON A GOOD FOR NOTHING MAN. My question is the following. Am I able to get a restraining order on my Mother In Law to keep her away from my 8 Month old son being that she is suicidal. She has threatened to commit suicide over simple things showing she is mentally unstable to be around my son. Another question is am I able to request supervised visitation for my son with his father being that he has bought, sold, and distributed drugs also done marijuana, cocaine, etc.?
