How Do I Get My Son Off Drugs? » suggestions

I took in an alcoholic who was passed out on the street. Now he’s yelling. Any suggestions?

I know him – he painted a couple of rooms in my house. He’s an illegal alien and I was concerned he’d get picked up by the police and be cut off from his daughter. He’s harmless — when my husband and son were walking him into the house, he cried from shame. I have no 1st hand experience with alcoholism. He’s in the guest room yelling a loud moaning yell. Should I call an ambulance? Any other advice on helping him?

suggestions on how I can teach my unborn son to respect women?

the baby’s father, (we’ll call him travis), has cheated on me and has been verbally and physically abusive to me, as was his father to him and his mom and sister. both travis and his father also abused drugs. (they both say all that’s in the past, but i wonder sometimes). not only did travis’ father cheat on his mom, but a child came out of one of his affairs.

my father wasn’t abusive, but he stayed out all night on many weekends, leaving my mom with us kids and had at least one affair that i am aware of. my father also abused drugs and alcohol.

i am so scared that my son will grow up to treat women this way and that he will turn to drugs. ever since i found out i was having a boy, i have been thinking of techniques and planning speaches that will hopefully lead my boy on the right path.

i had given travis one too many chances to redeem himself and had finally broke it off with travis 3 weeks before i found out i was having his baby.

i am so scared now that i have brought another life into this mess. with my issues with men after how i’ve been treated for the past 15 years, putting up with lying and cheating and abuse from several bad relationships, and not having a single ounce of trust in men, i don’t know how i am going to pass this along to my son in hopes that he won’t put any female through what me, my mom and travis’ mom has been through… not to mention us kids that witnessed a lot of it.

i know i might be rambling a bit, but does anyone have any suggestions of how to teach my son to treat women respectfully, and to make sure that he treats the ones he cares for extra special?

i have been worrying myself to death about this, even though i won’t actually know how he will turn out for two more decades. please, some wise words.

Activity and other idea suggestions for a high school graduation party this summer?

My son graduated high school this year and we need help planning and coming up with ideas for the party. Family friends, his friends, and relatives will attend so we need activities for all ages. Also any decor ideas/special touches would be helpful. His colors are greens, browns, and blues–he’s a nature lover.

HI I am in desprate need of help to pay 3500.00 in attorney fees so that my son can come home to me. His mother is in prision and his great great grandmother will not let me have him. I have 3 children here with me now i do security work for local places and i go to labor ready and i donate plasma just to make ends meet. I am willing to do anything to get the money i need for him. Shes in prision for doing meth and identidy theft charges and cant take care of herself let alone my 4 year old son. I flew to Texas to see him for his birthday and I tryed to apply for custody like you would here in PA but they wouldnt let me they said you must hire an attorney i have called dozens of attornys and none would touch my case for less than 3500.00 so that is why i am here. I will work, labor, donate organs anything to have him come home to a safe environment. I have call Oprah,Maury, in hopes they would hear about me and our story and decide to help nothing yet but still hoping. I have called and applied for lonestar legal aid and was denied. I have no clue what to do. I have a small window to get him because when she gets out i am not going to be able to have the upper hand like i do now because in texas theres a saying well 2 “Dont mess wit Texas” and “There is no such thing as a bad mother in the state of Texas”. See I didnt even know she went to prision. I have been calling and calling and cant get a hold of her so i looked online and found out what happened. She has been there for months now. she received some time served and is suppost to get out in the beging of Septemeber. I just talked to the attorney that is willing to take my case and they said if i pay them i will have a hearing in 2 weeks and no judge wouldnt give me custody of him because she is in prision. My wife of 12 years started working in a bar last year. She has become friends with a young, party crowd, and we’ve had some rough times over the course of the year. (See only other post).
One of her friends from the bar is getting a bunch of people to go to Key West next month for her birthday. I’ve become good friends with this girl too. Initially I was invited, along with this girl’s boyfriend. I just found out 2 weeks ago that I am no longer invited, and neither is her boyfriend. Apparently, only girls and gay guys are invited now. Initially, I was hurt because she’s been talking with us about how to celebrate her birthday for months now, and in fact she’s even asked me several times for ideas. First I was invited; now suddenly I’m “uninvited”.
I’m really not comfortable with my wife going on this trip. I’m not a contolling guy, but considering what we’ve been through, I think this is a really bad idea. This job has definitely put a strain on our marriage. For a while it was like she was trying to relive her youth. She would go to bars with her friends after work and not come home til 6am. A couple times I had to go into work late because I had to take our child to school when she was too drunk. I also caught her lying to me many times about where she is and who she is wife. Call me old fashioned but I think a husband has a right to know where his wife is a 4am.
She is very flirty and fun when we go out. One time several months ago, when we were out with some friends at a bar, I saw her making out with a total stranger. I freaked out. She said she was drunk and trying to get the guy to hook up with her friend. She said he asked to kiss her, and she let him. When I looked over, they were making out. I was devastated.
I finally put my foot down and threatened a divorce if things didn’t change. She has been honest with me recently (from what I can tell), and we are finally starting to get over our issues. Now she expects me to be fine with her going on a drinking binge in Key West for 3 days.
Initally, I was going to do something even more fabulous that weekend, but the financial reality set in. It would be too expensive and not worth it. Also, we have a son so I would have to find someone to take care of him.
Any suggestions on how to handle this situation? Should I just turn my head and hope everything is ok when she goes on this trip?

ok long story…last year my husband and i were contacted by child protective services because someone made a report to them that his sons mother was an alcoholic and meth user…they went to the house and see that is was very messy reeked of urine barely any food and the child didnt even have a bed to sleep on…the mom would not take a drug test for CPS and was very uncooperative…went to court with all the documents and the judge still said there was not enough evidence to modify custody (DUMB@SS) since that court date the mother has moved 6 different times, the child live eith his grandfather for 6months while she lived over an hour away, when she did have him move back with her we notice he lost quite a bit of weight for a 8 year old (started seeing ribs) now we got another call less than a year later from CPS of domestic violence in the house where he lives when asked by CPS if his mother’s boyfriend has ever hit him, he hesitated to say no
we have questioned him before because of bruises we have seen on him but he always says he is not sure how he got them ….his mother has absolutely brain washed him? i know to contact a lawyer but thats alot of money and we have 4 other kids to raise…and with how court went last time we are not sure what to do!! help please

needing suggestions dealing with grief?

I have a 16 year old son, we lost his dad 3 years ago & it is still very difficult. We tried counseling, but noone in our area deals with “grief counseling”. I lose it in spurts, but deal pretty well. My son has down right depression binges… he hates visiting the grave & seems almost angry that his dad died. Anyone with advice? Is this a normal response almost 3 years after the fact?
Wonderful advice from most of you… I guess some of you misunderstood… I NEVER force him to go to the grave site. I have offered to take him if it would help, when he says NO, that’s it. I don’t mention it until he brings it up, then I re-offer. I will need to search for different counseling centers, must of you suggest he still needs outside help & Thank-you! I understand my grief is different & I am coping quite well, he & his dad were best buddies as well as extremely close dad & Son. I appreciate all your responses!
