I got pregnant while I was living with my fiance. He is obviously the father of my baby and when I was three months along we slpit up. Things just ended up not working out and in the best interest of my son I left that alcoholic butt head. I’m not very big even though I’m 6 months along, and many men still find me attractive. I was going to wait until after I had the baby just cause I thought I’d be huge by now and figured nobody would want anything to do with me. I feel it’s time to let go of the baby’s father and move on. Some people feel I should wait cause it’s morally wrong. Just wanted to hear other peoples view on my situation I’m in at this time. I also wanted to add in that I’m not ever going to put a man in front of what my child needs, I’m definatly going to be responsable in who I date, and in no way am I being selfish by wanting to date again. My son comes first!

My husband, myself and my son are furious. My parents never admitted they were alcoholics. I had discussion with my sister & she is supporting him? Why? We love them now that they aren’t drinking. I never thought I would have to beg my sister to support them.

My son is on their honeymoon and wants to live with them. The new wife has a lot of money and a fancy black sports car which I cannot compete (nor do I want to) with. My 12 year old son is enamoured with this new life style. How do I cope with the pain?

I have a 6 month old son whom has a lot of hair for his age. Is it safe to braid his hair? The mother thinks that even though i allow my sister to braid his hair and the braids are not tight, that it’ll effect the soft spot on his head! Another thing is that she wants to use a lot of gel (alcohol-free) in his hair to hold a pony tail together. I really want to know, will it be a problem for his hair to be braided?

The man we originally rented the house to died of cancer 2 days ago. He has a live in girlfriend and her son (both on meth or heroine). Now they also have some other lady living there. They are 3 months behind on their garbage bill that I had sent to me today because I own the home. They have blankets nailed up to the windows and a pit bull living in the house as well. I am afraid of them and the dog and my husband wants me to confront them about the situation tomorrow. He is the one who rented to them in the first place and expects me to clean up the mess. I am so depressed over this mess. I have no idea what to even say to them. They have no contract with us and are just living there. I told my husband if I have to be the one to confront them then I want to take the police with me. He then said I always over react to everything and I would be going from step 1 to 10. He wants me to face this situation on my own and is criticizing the way I think I should handle it. Any advice is helpful!!

My ex and I split up nearly 2 years ago. He had been seeing our son nearly every week and said that when he left he left me “not our son”. Well, I haven’t heard from him for the past 4 months. I’m very confused and pretty livid for my son. He asks about him and I’m not sure what to say. I tell him that his father loves him and that I know he misses him.

Some people have mentioned that he’s probably in a new relationship but I still can’t understand how that would make him want to totally cut off all communication with his child who he was actively involved with up until 4 months ago.

I wonder if it could be drugs? He was very inconsistent over the summer when he was watching him. Would show up late most days, couldn’t seem to get himself up on time and would call with every excuse in the book day in and day out. He’s 35 years old and I know he did Meth recreationally before we got together, when he was 23. But he didn’t do that when we were together.

However, in the past year he’s lost his job (was fired after working there for 8 years) due to being late all the time. Said he was denied unemployment. And he’s just hanging out with 21 year old girls and has 2 bachelors living with him now.

I’m just trying to understand how someone can so completely change. I wonder why he wouldn’t be reachable or interested in seeing his own son for so long?

How can men (or people) do this to their children? Last we talked we were amicable and all was civil.
I have seen my ex driving around town, so he’s not incarcerated. He acts like he doesn’t see me. I texted him 3 months ago. Never heard back from him. I see that he’s adding friends to his facebook page, so I know he hasn’t fallen off the planet and isn’t in jail or worse.

up smoking pot. He has not wanted me to work for some time. I work two days a week every other week. I have had enough he was drunk on Christmas when we had family here and had to keep running to go get high. He even let his son drink here. I blew up. This man is 47 years old and he acts like he is 16. He goes to work and performs his job. He just can not be a father or a husband. He goes out every free moment he has from work. He dose not do one thing around the house. With the house or car and truck. He has two boys they are 16 & 18 he dose not spend any real time with them. I have a daughter she is 22 and pregnant and she said she will not come here again after the baby is born. She said she just won’t take the risk. I can’t blame her. I just don’t know how things have gotten so bad. I can not stand living this way I feel all alone. I have asked him to go get counseling for himself and us. He said he has no problem. I don’t fit into his plan in life. I don’t want to spend every night in the bar. I am waiting for my daughter to have the baby and then I plan on getting two jobs and get out of here. Am I wrong to do this? I just can’t take it anymore. Someone please help me what should I do?
My daughter lives in NY with her boyfriend. I live in PA. My daughter dose not want to take the chance of loosing her child while she is here because of his drug use and him involving all of us with him serving his oldest son drinks. My daughters boyfriend all so feels the same way he is fed up.

My ex just came back into the picture after being gone for 6 months. Now he wants to see our son regularly again. He agreed to an hour long visit in a park today with me present. I just stayed in the car and read while he and my 4 year old son played. He admitted to me that he got mixed up with some really bad people and it involved drugs and he feared for his life because things went bad with them and that he was doing meth. He said that he stopped doing it about a week ago and that it’s not something he was addicted to just something he did to not feel depressed.

He hasn’t given me much hassle, any hassle at all, actually about seeing our son with me around. We do not have custody or visitation set up through the courts. Before this we dealt with one another to.

I felt very bad for him today. He seems to be in a very bad place. But he was very happy to see our son and my son was happy to see him. But I do worry about my son’s safety… so I’m thinking if he does want to start seeing him more or without me around that we might have to go through the courts.

What I’m wondering is… Is it believable that someone could be doing meth fairly consistently probably for the past 6 months or longer and then suddenly quit on his own a week ago and stay clean? Or is he probably still using? I hear it’s VERY addictive and hard to kick.

my grandson is 21 years old and a 6 year meth user. We put him in one treatment center for 30 days and he came out great and a different person and stayed clean a week. He went to another treatment center for 3 months and came out great etc. clean 2 weeks. Went to another treatment center for 9 months and came home the sweetest kid you could ever hope for. Clean 3 weeks, It is split his parents home up, he has stolen everything that could be carried out even the family dog ( they did buy it back). He has nearly bankrupt my son and his wife and they are now split up after 23 years of marriage. He has no job as who will hire a druggie? If you can think of anything that we have not done please let us know. We have e mailed Dr. Phil and no response. We have e mailed Oprah, no response. Help

I am seven months pregnant, and the father of my soon to be son is an alcoholic. So bad that two weeks ago he kicked down my front door and vandalized my apartment. we have been on and off threw my whole pregancy b/c every time i hope that we can be a family something awful happens due to his uncontrolled alcoholism.
well ever since that night he broke in(he went to jail for a few days) he has been sober, got on medicine, and signed up for AA starting next week. but i told him i needed to finally cut off contact for a while. After praying alot i felt like if he really was going to start the long battle of recovery he needed to do it alone, me trying to help clearly had not worked at all. On top of that the stress of the disease on me and my unborn baby was way to much…i was throwing up constantly from nerves. with the alcolosim brought alot of lies and mistreatment and emotional damage. But see I love the man he is so much under the disease, but his disease is unhealthy for me and this baby. If anyone has any advice please tell me. I am twenty and this is my first son.

Help! I’ve asked around among my friends and googled around on the web. I’ve heard about frustration playing with toys in OLDER babies but never with younger ones. My son’s a little over 3 months old now but he’s had these shrieking temper tantrums playing with toys ever since he’s learned how to grab onto stuff and attempt to ram it into his little mouth.

They’re age appropriate things, single rings (or two chained together) or the toys hanging from his baby Einstein play mat, which is boggling in itself because he used to love his mat. Before he started reaching for stuff he would blab at the things hanging down. And it isn’t that he’s dropped the item and is crying… most of the time when he starts really freaking out, he’s still holding onto it. I’ve been teased because I’m reduced to giving him washcloths to grab onto, chew on and play with. They’re the only thing that doesn’t start a screaming fit within a minute or two. :P

I don’t think he’s having any developmental problems; he was socially smiling at 5 weeks, is currently working hard on learning how to roll over and understands and responds to the sign language for milk when he wants to be fed. Has anybody else experienced such grouchiness when trying to play? Is it a phase he’ll grow out of? I can’t help but think that my MIL (who I know has gone binge shopping for toys even though I asked for books) might have a rude awakening come Christmas :P
He does tend to chew a bit, but even with things he can’t quite get in he gets upset so not sure if it might be teething. Seems happy enough the rest of the time.

Ok here is the deal, I have a 29 month old son and a 9 month old daughter. Their doctor is the same doctor that I had as a infant. I think he is stuck back in that time. No matter what my children’s symptoms are he always tells me to put 4 drops of saline nose drops int heir noses and mix 1 teas. lemon juice, 1 teas. honey and half a cup of warm tea. Then it takes them weeks to get better. My son also has very bad wax build up and we use debrox like the doctor tells us to but it don’t get any better. He is also always lecturing us on smoking, neither me or my fiance smoke in the home when the children are awake and when they are in bed on the second floor we smoke downstairs with the window cracked. (please no lectures people) I have asked the doctor about how my son only says ~ mama, dada, papa, no, yes, go, alone, come on(more like mon) and very few other choice words once in a while and he tells me its fine he is only 2 in a half wait til hes 4 to tell if theres something wrong. and what do i do to help him he wont sit and play with flash cards no matter what games i play he will only do it for 5-10 minutes then hes done. HELP PLEASE

He is in drug rehab for cocaine and I wanted to know if anyone else was in or has ever been in the same situation and what the results were. To make things worse we have a two year old son. I need to know what I could write in the letters that I sent to him to help encourage him. Thank You. God Bless You for your help.

Should we consult a doctor?
The cord has fallen off, it looks normal except for the color. He was at the doctor a month ago and he did not say anything about it being weird.
I have tried to clean it but it does not change color. No dirt comes out on q-tip or anything like that.
