Besides a restraining order what can be done? or what type of restraining order? he is a heavy meth user with all kinds of garbage and junk in her yard. He leeches off her for probation fees and takes her money. She is just puzzled and doesnt know how to treat her own grand son? Any ideas? Any answer is a good one here.. thanks…

I rented this house and after signing the year lease, he told me that the ac doesnt work. Then he tells me we cannot put in window units b/c they could crack the cheap vinyl windows. Then we had to fix all the plumbing b/c of leaks, and slow drains. He will not reimburse for any work done, and says he is giving us a break on our second dog, b/c he charges $50.00 a pet. Second dog is a chi/ boston ter mix. Now the ceiling fan in my sons room is smoking and sparking. I am afraid its going to catch fire again. He said he will not replace it, just dont use it.
Does it sound like i have a slum lord, and what steps can i do to protect my deposit?
I rent a house with my wife and 1 year old son. The former owners of the house smoked a lot. Before we moved in, my wife and I wiped the walls down with cleaning solution and they just dripped black water when we sprayed the cleaning solution on them. It took a long time to clean them but the smell is MUCH better now. Anyway, my mother called me today and asked me if I had ever thought that this house was a former meth lab because of the smell. From what I have read, the smell in a former meth lab is very chemical. We’ve never smelled anything other than just stale smoke in this house. My mother covertly swabbed some dust from the cracks of the house and tested it with some meth tester. It didn’t register positive but eventually did a few days later. We really doubt that it was a meth lab but we don’t know what it would smell like. Is there a way to determine for sure? I’m afraid the landlords may just lie if we ask. Would the police department test the house for free?
My son just returned from a rehab center. I would like to start up a rehab center close to home. We have no treatment centers in our area.
can somebody tell me about a hepatic function panel?My son is in the hospital in detox because he is an alcoholic.His liver function is abnormal and these are his readings.total protein,7.7 Albumin,4.7 Bilirumin,total 0.8 Bilrubin,direct,0.2 a.l.k.Phosphatase 75 A.S.T. sgot,79 criticalhigh A.L.T. sgpt 29.He does not have serosis of the liver YET.Are these levels really serious? Whats gonna happen if he keeps on drinking? Will he die at a young age?He is 34 years old.How long can the liver hold out?
My family is questioning why I would not want my nephew in my house *especially* now that I have kids. ??? He has not sought help (never went to rehab or acknowledged that he has a problem), is extremely violent towards his immediate family (i.e., death threats)), has vandalized his parents’ home several times… I *love* my nephew and hope that he recovers from his addictions, but I am a parent who has an obligation to protect my own children. There was no nice way to break it to my family even though I tried. Now, I am being regarded as the bad guy. I seriously don’t understand… Am I the one who is crazy here? How would you have responded in this situation?
The house was once used as a meth house and when it went up for auction I purchased it. Now my son and his wife have lived in it for 3 or 4 years now, but keep feeling run down, and sick. Could it be the meth is causing the problem, if so can we fix the problem?
