How Do I Get My Son Off Drugs?

If your daughter really liked being with guys in a sexual way would you stop her and tell her it is wrong till she is married . Would you tell her to be careful and use birth control and protective devices to prevent the transmission of STD’s .
If your son wanted to race fast cars or motorcycles would you say no or would you suggest he take all the available precautions and use the best safety devices even though with them its likely he is risking his life everyday and could die .

Who can determine for someone else what is right .

Some of the worlds greatest artists never earned a living or made a nickel and today their work sells for millions .

Freud was a cocaine user for years and I know dozens of successful professionals who smoke Pot in the evening to relax .

Who is able to say what another person should do with their life .

This is my complaint about conservatives . You are to structured and narrow minded to see that people want to be free from all your rules period .

My sons father and I were off/on x 3 (he first met his son when he was 18mo)- he was an alcoholic and abusive verbally and physically to me- my son remembers this. He was also verbally abusive to my daughter (not his) and my son. I finally left him, tried sharing my son with him- I made all the trips. I got my son into counseling when he was 5 (he seemed consumed with fearing his dad had enough to eat/place to live). I married- this man also has an etoh problem, hasnt always gotten along with my children, and hes been in prison. He is out and we are now in family counseling. My son struggles every year at this time- his father hasnt seen him in almost 3 years, only calls once/twice a year, paternal grandmother stops by once/yr and last told him his dad had been near visiting his other son. He struggles socially at school and I just want him to be happy. He takes alot of his anger out on me as I am sure he knows I wont leave him (he is now 10). Any ideas on how?

technical legal issue? In other words, he definately had the drugs in his car and they were his but because of a screw up in the legal system he was found not guilty. I wouldn’t be happy but i have seen some families that are-like he never really did it!!
