I need an honest opinion about a possible eating disorder?

I am 35. I have a 15 yr old daughter and a 12 yr old son, so I am in no way a teenager myself. I know that eating disorders mainly occur among younger women and girls. I am 5 feet 9 inches tall and I weigh 124 pounds. I do feel fat and I do restrict what I eat, sometime to the point of not eating anything for 2 or more days. I walk 6.8 miles everyday at a pace of one mile for every 13 minutes. I dont take diet pills, I dont barf, I dont binge, and I dont use laxatives. My dad told me today that he is afraid that he is going to bury me because of the weight loss. I have had co-workers make comments as well regarding my weight and the fact I never eat at work. I will admit that my life is TOTALLY out of control and I probably need help, but this seems to be the only thing in my life that I CAN control. I dont have insurance right now, and I dont open up well to others. What should I do to get others to stop worrying about me?

My 2 year old is not eating?

My son has been on a not eating binge for the last week or so. He eats a bite here and there, but, never a entire meal. Not even close to an entire meal! He is skinny already and don’t want him to lose any weight, but, I don’t want to give him junk either. I know he would eat the junk (chips, cookies etc.). I don’t think he has eaten anything except fruit and a few cookies in 2 days. He acts perfectly fine, just not hungry. Is this normal? Is it just a phase? Oh, he did eat 2 bites of a grilled cheese for dinner last night! Should I just wait it out or give him the stuff I know he will eat?
Yes, he does drink milk. He loves it. He would drink it all day if I let him. Sometimes I do.

Weight Loss and eating disorders?

Im not going to get into detail but I struggle with an eating disorder, I been struggling for 8 years and I also have a 3 year old son, I just turned 21, 5’4 and 98 lbs. I want help but im not sure the type of help they have is what I need or want, I know its not about what I want though. I need to stop purging and starving, sometimes I will go weeks without food, WEEKS! then I purge alot when I do eat, even healthy food and it doesnt even have to be a binge. I want to start eating again, like start off with celery and peanut butter, mabe 3 pieces celery a day with a teaspoon peanut butter for protein. How does that sound, am I gona blow up? I use diuretics and laxatives, Im sadly addicted but dont feel sorry for me I just need real advice.

Will I lose weight from eating that? I just want to be thin dont preach to me please, I’ve heard it all and I know it all but I gotta stop purging and starving myself. I gotta start somewhere right? I might even purge the celery. God help me…
I dont want to gain weight and eating normal meals make me sick and purge, salads make me purge even drinking V8 but I’ve heard about celery and how your body takes more calories to digest it or something.
Oh yeah my doctor is white, she said only white women get eating disorders so I really get no help, she dropped my case but Im looking for a new therapist and psychiatrist now because she was obviously racist.

Nephew… only 8 years old and eating pills?

I know this sounds horrible but this is the thing.. my sister was raised with her dads family… she might be one of the worst people i have ever met, i come from a very drug addicted family and this is not the reason that i think she is so terrible either. She has been using drugs since she was about 9 years old, i know people are going to say she needs to be loved and all that crap, but over the last 15 years we have all tried, she will steal anything from you, and doesnt care what kind of a high she gets as long as she gets high. She has spent 5 years in prison, and the years she was out she spent the majority in a juvenile detention center. She is currently in prison at this moment, for running 5 meth labs in the same house as her grandma and kid live, she was pregnant when she went to jail and had the baby there, and now her 75 year old grandma has the baby. Anyways my 8 year old nephew ate 8 of his adderall pills and was rushed to the emergnecy room. I don’t know what to do
I do a lot of things for him but im only 19 and struggeling to pay the bills… I don’t want him to be just like my sister, because thats a horrible life.. anyone have any suggestions?? and child services will not take the kids a way from the grandma because i called them before.. she is like a 300 pound lady who can barly walk.. and they expect her to care for 2 children…
At first i was mad at his grandma because dont understand why he is able to just get into the pill cupboard and eat them…

binge eating??

with my son i was hungry all day and just snacked all day pretty much but this time it’s like food totally disgusts me and then all of a sudden im starving and once i start eating i cant stop until im so stuffed it hurts. im only eating like twice a day. im 13 weeks is this normal???

Hello, I am a 27 year old man who is having major issues with binge eating. My weight fluxuates between 185 to 230 a couple times a year as the problems come and go. I’ve always been a heavy eater but never gained weight until college. A few years ago I dropped down to 185 and that is when the rollercoaster began. My wife, whom I met a little under 3 yrs ago is Bulimic. She has fought the disease for over 10 yrs and is only 24 yrs old. As of now we are binging multiple times per week and cannot seem to get control of it. I find myself spending upwards of $10 per day at the snack machine. We are consuming close to 10k cal each per day we binge. There is much more to this but not enough char. to type it all. She went a whole year when we found out she was pregnant but it recently started up again. Our son is 6 months old and this is hurting us both emotionally and financially. I’m worried about my son’s future. Drs. have not been able to help. Suggestions please. Thanks
There is much more to this situation. I suffer from social anxiety. I take cymbalta for it and when I miss a couple days the urge is uncontrollable. My mind WILL NOT focus unless I binge, this does not mean 3 Lean Cusines but for example chineese take out, two cokes, four pop tarts, and a piece of bday cake ~4″x10″. All gone in less than 10 minutes. My wife is a fitness instructor and their is constant conflict regarding food. This goes much deeper but not going into it. I also suffer from depression Want to stop bad but much easier said than done. When the urges come they take over, you lose control. Control that does not come back from counting to 10, or snacking on something healthy but an annoying hyper, itchy, can’t focus on ANYTHING no matter how hard you try feeling – until you eat until you cannot eat anymore. I have to satisfy feeling this at work to do my job (IT). Then I feel like I’ve taken a step back. Also self concious over weight. 6’1″ 230lbs.
My wife and I both hide this well. We are both very attractive people, her body looks great, mine is slightly overweight. We both always concerned about our looks. We’re both very nice to everyone we meet and very well liked but it feels like we are wearing a mask. People think we are these perfect people but we hide our secrets very well. I know this sounds like I’m tooting my own horn but I’m just repeating what we’ve heard from others. I’m reaching out here because I’ve exhausted all avenues and am very desperate. As my son gets older he will begin to pick up our behavior. I’m confident if we can begin to gain control over this we will be able to start improving our relationship, financial situation and other areas of our lives that continue to degrade.

Can someone tell me about binge eating? My 13 year old son goes through periods about 2-3 days a week where he can’t seem to eat enough.It is scary to watch him eat at times.He is very active.He is far from being overweight.In fact due to medical problems he is underweight.Is this normal for teenage boys?Or do I need to be concerned?We have an appointment with his doctor next week.Should I mention this to him? I am almost 300 pounds this is the biggest I have ever been. I am a total binge eater, I eat and eat and eat and never ever get full, and I dont know why. I am fine in the excercising department I walk my son in the park everyday and lift weight. Now all I need to do to lose weight is learn how to stop eating! please help me
