I lost my son several months ago and could not sleep at night. I had never consumed alcohol before this time but began drinking to help me forget and sleep. I now drink one to two bottles of 40% alcohol each night (I don’t drink during the day). The bottle are 700 ml. each and I mostly drink Vodka.

My question is: I know I am drinking a very large quantity of alcohol but it has very little effect on me. I’m never drunk but I do sleep.

Shouldn’t this have a stronger effect on my body?

My son is 17 and got an under age drinking ticket in our home town in Wisconsin. I heard that he wouldn’t be able to get his drivers license until he was 21. Is this true? His ticket was also $200 more than everyone elses even though he didn’t supply the alcohol does anyone know why?

My son is turning 18 years old. And has planned a party. He has told me that more than likely there will be alcohol that his friends will bring. Will I get in trouble if I allow them to bring it in. I am not buying it for them so does that matter. I want my son to have fun on his Birthday but I do not want to get in trouble if cops show up.
By the way party is in 2 days….

He said he didnt think to pour it out, and he hid it so noone would think it was his. My son also asked me why do I think he comes home chewing gum. its to get rid of the smell. My husband can’t smoke inside his work, so he says he chews gum when he can’t smoke. I asked him why come home chewing it when you can smoke, he said he guessed he liked chewing it. The part of me that believes he isnt drinking is because he was a very violent and aggressive drunk, and I’ve not seen that lately. We have had some arguments but not like before. And when he drinked, he never drinked whiskey or liquor, only beer. My son suspects he’s drinking stronger alcohol to get drunk quicker. My husband’s daughter and sister even suspect he’s drinking. I know I should believe my son also, but I have not found anything to suspect from my husband. What should I do? My son is his stepson. I thought my husband was going on 9 months sober. Please help me.

I live in the Chicago area and in the news, a couple was found guilty in supplying alcohol at a party in their home for their teenager. They have not been sentenced yet and their own son testified against them. Well, 2 or 3 teens were killed in a car accident after the party. I am just wondering when are we as parents going to start being parents and stop trying to be friends to our children. I was also wondering about your opinion of the situation.

One last thing, one of the teens involved in the accident where teens died of underaged drinking was involved in another accident last week where someone was driving drunk…When will she learn?

My son came home last night seemingly normal, but when I walked past him in the kitchen I could smell alcohol on his breath. After realizing that he was drinking the signs became a little more obvious and I realized he must be slightly drunk still. I know for a fact that he has never drunk before and I don’t want to be too strict but I still want to punish him some how. What do you recommend a good punishment is?

He has been waiting and working to get into the high school he is in. They only accept so many students each year and you have to earn the right to go there. My son is a good student and has never gotten into any trouble before. Saying this as his mother i am sure people will say that i am just in denial, but he really is a good kid and has a good head on his shoulders. Last week i received a call from the school that he was found drinking in shop class. Now he might be getting kicked out of the school he worked so hard to get into. He said it was the first time he has never done this before. i believe him, but i am concerned about it. alcoholism runs in my family and when i was his age i was already an alcoholic. Does anyone know if there is anything i can do to make sure he doesn’t go down that road. We always talk and he knows i am there for him whenever he needs me, but i know he is at the age when his friends have more influence on him than i do sometimes. i just want a better life for him then i had and i am hoping someone might have some ideas to help prevent this.

I have a 9 year old son. We go over to my sister’s house a lot & have BBQ’s. My sister & her husband as well as my other sister & her boyfriend are there & they have a few drinks. I do not drink in front of my son. I am worried that this is having a bad impact on my son. He seems to recognize alcohol at the grocery store & when he sees things related to alcohol, he says “auntie or uncle” would like this. Should I no longer have my son around when they are drinking? They don’t get drunk or anything, just have some drinks. Please let me know what you think.

I just need to know if I need to see a doctor or not. When I drink coffee or alcohol It seems that I urinate more frequently then alot of other people. People have told me that I urinate alot when I drink beer. Its usually 3-5 times in one hour. I also feel have felt tired ever since I had my son which was 2 years ago. I get mood goes from one emotion to the next frequently too. I get headaches sometimes but its very rare. Do you think there is something worse, or do you think its just how my body is?

John: 2 Jesus turns water into wine
Matthew 9: 14-17 Jesus uses wine and wineskins in a parable
Matt: 11-19 “the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say ‘Look, a glutton and a drunkard’…”
Matt 26: 27-29 “Then he took a cup and after giving thanks he gave it to them saying, Drink from it all of you….I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”
drinking, not getting drunk!

She’s an alcoholic and 2-3 mo. pregnant and won’t stop drinking. What can I do to save the unborn baby? Is there anything I can do? She already lost her 3 mo. old son last year and she drank during that pregnancy too.

It all started a year and a half ago when he claimed he was laid off at his job at a small airport (he fueled airplanes). He had complained the job was too physical but he’s been a heavy smoker and drinker his entire life so quit the job. After that he spent a year and a half doing nothing. He used up all his savings, pawned everything of value he had except his house and his car. Six months ago he claimed he had lung cancer and only had months to live. He wrote a will and gave me the title to his truck. I first felt sorry for him and was giving him money and buying him groceries, etc. Listening to his drama about how he’s coughing up blood and has no energy. I soon learned this was all a ploy to suck money out of me. When I’d go visit him he’s been able to walk and talk and move around just fine. Not a cancer victim on death’s doorstep by no means. He’s been mooching off al l his neighbors, his utilities are now being disconnected and I think his house is being foreclosed on. A while back I told him he needed to apply for disability or welfare but he claims he can’t because he has no proof he’s dying! Duh. So he’s destitute. Last week he calls me asking for money (he sounded perfectly fine on the phone). I told him I had no money to lend him (I’m a single mom – I’m trying to survive myself). I know the money I lend him goes for cigarettes and beer. I told him I couldn’t support him financially so today he calls wanting the title back to his car. Which is fine – I didn’t want his car to begin with. I think he wanted me to put his car in my name so he could use that as a bargaining tool “I gave you my car – you now need to take care of me”. He’s been an alcoholic is entire life and has done nothing in the last year and a half but sit at home and tell everyone he’s dying of cancer. He’s made no attempts to find a job (said he can’t because he loses his energy after 15 minutes). He’s not dying, he’s not disabled, he’s just dug a hole he can’t get out of because he’s sat for over a year drinking and spending every last dime he has and feeling sorry for himself. I’ve been working my tail off to support me and my son, I’m unable to help him. He refused to help me back when my husband died and I lost my job – he asked me to move in his house with him then one night got drunk and kicked me and my son out on the street. He was abusive and vulgar towards me and my son. He’s been vulgar towards me even when he’s not drunk. He’s never been a brother. He’s a weak person who is self destructing quickly. I think the title to his car was a master manipulation to suck me in and now that I won’t give him money he wants it back. He needs to sell his car if he’s desperate for money. I don’t want anything from him. Why is he doing this to me? I’m his little sister – I went through hell when my husband died and left me with a baby. I’ve managed to get back on my feet and have a decent job and I am supporting me and my son but I cannot take on a 55 year old alcoholic abusive manipulative brother. It would be different if he was not faking cancer and has done absolutely nothing to help himself. Do I stand my ground?

I asked this b/c this girl told me her health teacher said alcohol burns holes in the brian which is not true whatsoever.

And then I rememberd when a health teacher told me that alcohol is the worst drug in the world, and its the last one we should try.

So would your prefer:

Seeing you kids with a few friends drinking beer watching basketball underage acting silly.

OR

Seeing them smoking meth and twiching walking around in circles really fast.

Or even worse:

Find your son or daughter passed out drunk on a couch.

Or just find him/her in a park after being missing for 3 days were he/she hassnt slept or ate in 3 days sractching themselves as the drug wears.

Im just saying this b/c if health teachers are saying Alcohol is the worst but notice everyone uses and seems just fine then why would Meth be that bad?

So your kids drinking bud or injecting Meth?
Apperntly Meth has only a 7% recovery rate, so i guess the rest just kinda die. . .
