My 16 year old son was driving with 2 of his friends and they were all drinking beer. The police saw them driving erratically and found the beer when they pulled them over. My son had to pee really bad because he drank 3 beers. He asked to go to the bathroom when they were handcuffing him, but the said he had to wait till they put him in the holding cell at the police station. My son wet his pants in the back of the police car and soaked the seat. I’m mad that my son wet himself just because he wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom. My son isn’t scheduled to be in court for his arrest because it wasn’t as bad as other alcohol-related incidents, but should I start a court case for my son wetting his pants because the police made him?

My 18 year old son was recently arrested with his buddies in public for under the influence of alcohol. While at the police station they also drew blood for a blood test. What are they looking for and what will the fine most likely be?

Want to know how others would handle things when he returns home.
Court date will be on thursday, he may or may not be able to come home. Dont know yet. This is his first time getting into trouble with the law.
We are strongly considering enrolling him into a drug/alcohol 60 day program. Although I think that taking alcohol to school was more for showing off to his buddys since he was sharing it with 3 other boys in the bathroom.
He will be grounded for quite some time of course…..

Since he wont be allowed to return to public school, we think going to an alternative school will only make his behavior worse since the only kids at that school will be troubled teens (like his self)

SO, we’re thinking maybe study for GED….

I just dont know what to do. I’m so heart broken and worried.
Please only serious answers, I’m so depressed and worried about him.
I just need to know what others would do from the outside looking in.

By the way, he did NOT get the alcohol from home.
We found out later today from another kid that he got it from a friend over the weekend and had it hid…

.
By the way, I have not saw him since he left to go to school this morning. They took him straight to Juvenile and he will be there until thurs. which is when the court date is….
I dont know where he will go from there. :(
Home…. or back there for 60 days…
Its killing me.
Thank you all so much for the support and answers so far. BIG thank you.

Just to let you know, yesterday when we talked to the vice principal he told us that here where we live (georgia)
that there is a zero tolerance for alcohol, drugs and weapons. Meaning if you get caught with any of those, you are automatically thrown out of public schools and the only choice left is alternative schools or private (if you can find one here in the bible belt land to accept you, it is total up to the private school)

By the way, he has only gone to public school for 2 years. He has always been to Christian private schools before that…..

He went to court where they recommended alcohol assessment. He was assessed and scheduled to begin a level 1 addictions treatment program. In the meantime his drivers lic. was suspended. Since this was around the holidays my husband and I were unable to take time off work to get him to the once weekly sessions 30 miles from our home. The judge indicated at his first appearance that he needed to complete this or would be issued a warrant for arrest. His court date is two wks away and he is scrambling to get into a program. Is it possible he will serve jail time for this? and if so how much can they give him? Thanks

he wasn’t selling it just had it in his possession, the grand jury indicted him for it, I can hardly believe that but know its true because I read it for myself and it is the only charge against him..The county I live in the new judge has been sending everyone to jail for this penny ante stuff. There has been alot of complaining going on about this judge because the jails are overcrowded already. Not that I am a advocate of illegal drugs (I’m not) but seems like they would be going after the big dogs instead of this kind of stuff. Can they really have a case against him for such a small amount?
The charge definitely is less than 1/10th of a gram and dont be so judgmental there is more to the story and my son swears he has never done cocaine in his life. He voluntarily let the police search his house and they were there for over 2 hours searching and this all started because he went to the local hardware to buy a can of coleman fuel for a heater that he has because it was cold out and he was working on his car. The lady at the hardware store apparently thought he might be using it to make meth with, soshe called the police. Whatever, my son swears that this cop is just saying that cause he KNOWS there was no cocaine in his house and when they came back they told him he had 2 choices. they would take it to the grand jury or he could wear a wire for them. He told them to take it to the grand jury. Geez, the question was for an attorney anyway. Are you ALL attorneys? Lighten up.
tony S. I guess you can’t read very well. My son WAS busted for it but claims it is impossible for them to have found it in his house because he dosen’t do cocaine. He thinks that they were there looking for meth because of the hardware store incident and they couldnt find anything so they cooked up this charge against him. That is my whole point,,,, If I thought my son was guilty I would not be sticking up for him, I would be kicking his butt and telling him he got what he deserved as I have always done when he did something wrong. I should mention here that my son has NEVER been in ANY kind of trouble and is a nice kid with alot of friends.
I only stated at the beginning that he was busted for it and he only had it in his possesion to make the story simple. I can see now that I should have explained the whole story. Sorry. He swears there was no cocaine anywhere near him because he has never used it. I believe him not because he is my son but because I know him and know he is truthful. I also know he is scared and I just dont want to see him go to jail for something he didnt do.

Recently my son was arrested for 2 grams of cocaine and a scale and when the vehicle was searched 35 grams was found under the passenger seat. There was a guy who was ‘networking’ for the police who my son states had to have put this under the seat as he only had $100 to purchase the 2 grams. This is the first time in my son’s life he has ever been arrested for anything like this. My son swears that he is being framed for the 35 grams and that all he had was the 2 grams and the scale. What can be done? Also, can his vehicle that is impounded be released to his wife upon payment or does the law enforcement get to ‘keep’ his vehicle?
