I am going through a divorce and can not afford a lawyer, so please do not answer by telling me to get one. I can not afford it.
I recently came across a tape where my son, who was on cocaine, talked about my STBX being reprimanded to drug abuse counseling. They were seeing the same counselor as well as my husband seeing another one and both seeing the same mental health counselor.
My husband was put on Lexapro about 2 years ago. I just read that Lexapro is used to withdraw someone from cocaine. Google Lexapro and cocaine, not just Lexapro.
This is where it gets sticky. The judge sealed his record of conviction on physical abuse of me. The judge came under fire recently for shielding men from prosecution with a cop speaking up so long as his name was not used. The DA deflected the attack with legal double talk. No man has ever been convicted of rape or violence against women in my town that I can find.
How can I prove that my husband has an addiction to drugs without the cooperation of the law? I only have a week to do this in.
Our son is over 18 and lives with other guys. He has been spotted with known drug dealers on Feb.9 of this year.
As I stated, my STBX is on Lexapro and has been for 2 years that I know of. If he was on cocaine, all traces would be gone by now.
Other people here have heard local doctors talking about putting herione in vitamin shots to keep people coming in for more shots (these people would have no reason to fabricate such a thing) so I would not trust anything a doctor says here. I know of several people who have been given prescripts for pain killers for years and for no reason. This is a wealthy community and there are more than one “Dr. Feelgoods” who practice openly. I feel that if it is to be proved, it has to be done through those sealed court records.

My boyfriend’s brother has been doing cocaine and all that drug stuff I don’t know about and its sad when my boyfriend’s mom even asks me for help. They have very little money and I promised her I would try to help. She wants her son to stop because he is quickly becoming addicted. She wants to teach him a lesson and help him to stop. Therapy is not the answer in this situation. He’s very tough and he needs something that is straight on and challenging. He is only 15. Please help.

He has since been returned to his Dad. For reasons I don’t understand. The State of Fl. has filed charges on me for abandonment. Which has also been dropped. My question here is that Fl. has these laws where both parents have certain things they got to do. Like he has to go to anger management, parenting classes, etc. I have to provide them with the history of our custody battle here in Ca. But what the problem for me is they want us both to enroll in a sustance abuse program. I don’t understand why I need to do that. He is the one they concluded was a alcoholic. I have NEVER been on drugs or been convicted of any drug related crimes. I am certainly no alcoholic either. We have 1 year to complete this program. He has a little longer for his other ones. If I don’t do this in the amount of time they gave, then I could possibly lose my Parental Rights. According to the court. So even if I don’t feel it’s right, my son is more important. So does anyone know the cost and how long it takes?

Would you consider it child abuse if a man gave his young son, age 8 to 10 years old, both cocaine and whiskey? Then did this repeatedly for at least 4 years.

It’s not a current thing, this was several years ago.

one of my sons has already been coerced into stealing for his moms, cousins, aunts drug habits. The police are involved and even social services, juvenile services and schools have been notified. I am trying everything i can do to get my children (twin boys age 15) out of this environment and now this family is talking about moving and taking my children with them as things heat up. Any group that i have not thought of or that i could contact to help expedite this from happening would be great information.
I am the father and i have already contacted social services and juvenile service. I have not contacted a lawyer because i can not afford one.

My son was diagnosed as having schizo-affective disorder. He had been abusing cocaine and marijuana. He suffered a pyschotic break. Is it possible this was a result of the drug abuse and not mental illness?
