Should someone like this be banned from this site?

I had asked a question about smoking. In an example of how smoking isn’t always the contributing factor to death, I stated my boyfriend’s grandfather ( A WWII Vet) had smoked for 50 years, but his death was attributed to his loyal mini poodle who had followed hime everywhere, got under his feet and tripped him down the basement stairs. He cracked his skull off the concrete and passed away. His death was a “freak accident” not attributed to smoking.

Two users decided to attack a personal issue by defaming a vetran of this country. They said Kudos to the mini-poodle. Where can I send doggie chocolates for ending the life of someone polluting the air. One user e-maild me politely and said it was sad that happened but smoking could have done it before that.

This is the e-mail he sent to my boyfriend for his response e-mail saying he was a rude son of a B****.

Subject: Re: you ignorant on of a *****
Message: You still haven’t told me where I can send the box of doggie chocs for the mini poodle.Please learn how to spell before sending me any more of your diatribes,as amusing as they are to receive.Also please tell me where your grandfathers remains are so that I may urinate on them.Goodbye,y’all have a nice day now,ya hear!

I won’t name profiles but after 3 or 4 reports of this offensive behavior yahoo answers refuses to even reprimand him for this. Personally I feel he deserves to be banned. My question was removed for “starting arguments” but no one answering except a 2 stated anything that would start an argument.

Should someone be banned for having the audacity to say something like that. I feel Yahoo answers team are hipocrytical. They state offensive behavior and repeat offenses will possibly result in a banning. Being reported 4 times isn’t a repeat offense?
We’ve already informed Yahoo Answers Team Legal action will be taken about this. 4 e-mails later, and 2 seprate witnesses and e-mailing, and they do nothing. I have no problem with that. Yahoo doesn’t want to take the fall then they’ll pin it on that person. We have no problem with that. I was apalled. My question was actually re-moved for being “argumentative” while this person is allowed to say such slander and disgustingly trashy comments. I WOULD NEVER EVER SAY I’D PISS ON A VETERANS GRAVE. I HAVE VETS IN BOTH SIDES OF MY FAMILY! SO DOES MY BOYFRIEND! ITS GOOD TO SEE SO MANY AGREE WITH US!!!

100% yes they should be! I don’t believe that yahoo don’t vet these messages and have the power to block such users. However, these uneducated people would just prob set up another user account and carry on abusing ppl like us. sorry to hear about these idiots being rude to your boyfriends family x

Yeah, that’s absolutely disgusting I am appalled! I think those comments were nothing short of vicious, and I hope he has someone say something similar one day so he knows how revolting those types of statements are.

I can’t believe that person is continued to participate to be honest, yahoo obviously doesn’t take things very seriously………

Yes, I 100% agree that they should be banned. Nasty behavior such as that shouldn’t be allowed on a site such as Yahoo! Answers. The person who sent you this should be permanently banned.

As yes, you did say they could set up another account. But if they store there date of birth and everything else they could have good proof that the person trying to become a member with a different account.

There should not be behavior such as that on here, it is likely a case of bullying. I say you should email Yahoo! And tell them what has happened they should do something and if they don’t you should sue them or something because Yahoo!Answers is supposed to be a friendly site for help with questions not a bully site.

First of all, you should post these peoples yahoo personals so we all can have a good crack at ‘em!
Look, there are a lot of people on here who are ignorant. What was said about your grandfather was so so wrong and for what it’s worth, it was only the opinion of one (or 2) idiots who have nothing better to do with their time or with their lives.
I don’t get yahoo not doing anything about it but if you posted their names and enough of us complained, I am sure something would get done!
Hell, my whole yahoo account got deleted because some piss ant 16 year old kid didn’t like my comment.. It’s ridiculous.

it is such a specious argument when you know that smoking is as bad as it is. how could anyone defend it with a clear conscience?.

my grand father was told when he was down to half a lung, that if he quit smoking then, that the shock of withdrawal would kill him. it may be one of lifes ironies but you cant say just because he survived that smoking isnt really bad for you.

people survive war and amputations but you dont hear anyone saying that that bombs dont kill people just because a lucky few survive.

whatever you feel about the responses you got to your story , it is just not a valid thing to say.

Although everyone has a right to their opinion and ‘freedom of speech’, they are also bound by the consequences of what they said. If you feel they should be banned or their comments should be reported and deleted, do it. Also, keep in mind some posters are troll-like and love to start controversies at any time. They often do get reported, banned, etc. and usually show up later under another handle and account. They were wrong to make such insensitive comments and you are well within your rights to report them.

ok we all get really hurtful and mean answers to our questions at one time or another. this is a public forum and not really one that should be subjected to sueing. If you are going to be that offended you should not put your personal information on here it is the internet.
I have a lot of questions i would like to ask but don’t because i know i would be opening myself up to hurtful horrid responses.
you need to get over this.
you must realise that not everyone cares about you or your family or veterans. some people are horrible and some people are having a laugh. do not waste your energy on this. take it as a lesson learned.
