My son has met this wonderful lovely girl on yahoo pool whoi lives 200 miles away. My son is 15 and she just turned 17. She has bipolar disease and is from an alcoholic family. My son would like to meet with this girl this weekend. Will it hurt for them to meet?
I ‘ve never met her and I think she is coming here without the consent of her parents. I know the answer but I just wanted my son to see what other people thought about this. We agreed to do what most people think is the right thing to do.

no it wont hurt…. but bi polar…watch out… i was talking to a female with bi polar…and it was very very interesting… y our son has to understanding and cant take things personal that she does……

Hard to say no to a 15 year old, if he meets her I would supervise it as closely as possible. Hopefully they could meet at your house or something. Bipolar disease is manageable if she is on medications, I think.

No, don’t let them meet. He will be pissed at you for a while, but I don’t think that is the right thing to do. But if your son is the type to just go and see her without you knowing then go because you don’t want him going out there without you.

Of course you don’t want your son to get involved with someone who has all these personal problems. Tell him to look for someone who has less severe problems closer to home.

First off, You’re a cool Mom to be open this sort of thing. But wow 200 miles that’s a far drive!. I hope your son knows what kind of sacrifice you’re doing for him. Secondly, it’s up to you. You’re a parent. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt for them to meet but at the same time educate him on bi polar disorder and the potential things she may do. Other than that leave the other stuff to your son .

i think you should go with your son in meeting this girl…that is for you to personally meet her and her family too, know her address, assess the place, so that the next time your son visits her again, you will know he’s safe there or you can give him the proper caution on what probably might happen there… also bring you son to a specialist to explain to him what is bipolar disorder and how should he suppose to handle situations should the disease attacks the girl.. this will probably hint him should he bet for this one….

it shouldn’t be a problem just you go with him or arrange for someone you trust to go with him. but before that happens it mite be best for your son if he is givin a lil bit of knowledge on bi polar disease…

good luck with it n keep in mind just because someone has a disease doesn’t mean they aint human like me n you….
