My son was arrested and he wet his pants because the cops didn’t let him use the bathroom?

My 16 year old son was driving with 2 of his friends and they were all drinking beer. The police saw them driving erratically and found the beer when they pulled them over. My son had to pee really bad because he drank 3 beers. He asked to go to the bathroom when they were handcuffing him, but the said he had to wait till they put him in the holding cell at the police station. My son wet his pants in the back of the police car and soaked the seat. I’m mad that my son wet himself just because he wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom. My son isn’t scheduled to be in court for his arrest because it wasn’t as bad as other alcohol-related incidents, but should I start a court case for my son wetting his pants because the police made him?

I can’t believe you have the nerve to post this question here. Your 16 your old son was driving around with his friends drinking beer… What kind of a parent are you??

If you try to make a big deal about this in front of a judge, you are going to get ripped to shreds.

You will lose the case, for a damned good reason. The police can not let your son publicly urinate, nor can they remove the handcuffs until he’s inside the police station. Many cops have been killed and injured doing just that. Many fugitives started their flight when a cop unhandcuffed them inappropriately.

Were they supposed to unzip him and pull out his wanky? That would be a different lawsuit.

Sorry your son needs to learn the hard way, but the police have procedures for a reason, and usually it was a cops’ life that the rule was built upon.

I know, it’s your son, and he’s such an angel…but the cops don’t know him, and must treat him like anyone else. The police have a right to go home after their shift.

I doubt you’ll find a lawyer who’ll take this case on contingency, so you’ll be forced to pay the retainer (probably well over $10,000). My advice: let the matter rest, and hope your son matures.

you gotta be joking. poor baby, wet his pants because he was drinking and driving drunk. what were the cops suppose to do, let him pee on the side of the road or take the poor boy to a gas station? too bad he didn’t crap in the police car, that would have been great.

Start what kind of case because your son wet his pants? I don’t recall any laws that say that the police have to let defendants urinate in public by the side of the roadway.

You are aware that your son was most likely driving while intoxicated if he had three beers? He was also breaking a law by drinking while in a car and another crime was being in possession of the beer.

And you want to blame the police?

There is nothing you can do.

Cops commonly keep individuals away from the restrooms for lengthy periods of time during arrest, so that the individual will soil him\her self.

This strokes their egos & reinforces their worldview that they are really making these “criminals” pay.
