My son is 14 and he has always had good grades. And everything but lately he has not been acting himself all he wants to do is come home and sleep. His grades have been slipping he has been pulling away from me and his dad. He has started to lash out and he flips out for no reason at all. I have learned he has been skipping his class’s. I have tried to talk to him but he just blows up at me and tells me everything is fine and to leave him alone. So my husband went out and bought a drug test and we asked him to take it but he is refusing and we are not sure what to do. We have taken away his laptop,cell,Video games, but he wont budge on it. I am at my wits end my husband searched his room and found some what looks to be meth and pot in his closet. Should we take him to a rehab center? Because my son appears to be on the road for self destruction. Advise?

meth and pot would be a weird kind of combination… i didnt read your whole story, but if he refuses to take a drug test, you can find a way to force it. take him to the doctor too, they can do a hair test or blood test if he refuses to do a urine test.

Hmm..ur son sounds like a teenager…If you really think he’s on drugs wait 3 months and then ask him cuz by then the drugs shouuld be out of his system..if he says yes..than u know he was on drugs b4…haha but he could just be refusing bcuz he thinks his parents are being too controlling..no don’t take him to rehab..what do u mean what looks to be meth and pot? you can’t tell? take it to the dr. and have it tested.

Uh, he is obviously doing drugs. And he does know he is doing them, therefore it would be incredibly stupid for his to agree to take a drug test. First off all, while he is sleeping, pull out a piece of his hair. Drug test it even though you know what the answer will be and enroll him in rehab. I’m not sure why you decided to even ask this question, because you already know he is on drugs and he should go to rehab. so just do it

i think u should… i was on a really bad road to self destruction and i was acting a lot like your son when i was sixteen.. my parents decided to take me to rehab and i have such a different point of view of life now, not to mention i get along great with my folks, i also had a lot of spiritual help… i thank god and my parents everyday for doing that

Refuses???
Who is the boss in your house? He is a 14 year old boy and u are the boss. U tell him he WILL take the test if u say so.
Maybe that’s what his real problem is….not enough discipline.

He’s pretty much taken the drug test right there. If he’s drastically changed, and this is just recent, and he’s refusing a drug test — that’s a big red flag that he probably IS doing drugs. What sober child in their right mind would refuse a drug test?
If you found what might be drugs, take those and your son to a rehab facility pronto! He might be angry now, but he’ll truly thank you later when he gets back to normal and can continue with a SUCCESSFUL life. I also suggest counseling — you need a professional who can talk to your son to see why he started taking drugs, and how he can change.

Go to Google images look up meth and pot if you don’t already and then if it is meth(pot would not be worth going to a rehab center for) go to the doc. and get a drug test done there, In my opinion he kinda sounds depressed or just a teenager.

maybe hes having girl problems and thought about turning to drugs to ease the pain. but weed and meth is not a very common combination so he sounds like a beginner. maybe a psychologist or therapist could help
