My son is now 6 months old and his belly button has black stain inside. Do we clean this with alcohol or what?

Should we consult a doctor?
The cord has fallen off, it looks normal except for the color. He was at the doctor a month ago and he did not say anything about it being weird.
I have tried to clean it but it does not change color. No dirt comes out on q-tip or anything like that.

NO!!! Do not touch or try to dig them. It’s natural for them, else they will get tummy ache later on. It doesnt bother them or bother you.

I would definitely go see a doctor… the cord should be already fallen off by now, never have heard of this before sorry I couldn’t be of any better help

Could it just be dirt? I would try to softly clean it with a damp clean cloth. If it does not wipe away then ask the doctor. I have never heard of that.

just use soap and water with a Q-tip to gently clean it. sometimes we miss the inside of our belly buttons. if it doesn’t come completely clean you don’t have to worry about it. just clean it every time your baby takes a bath. if you are still worried next time he goes to the doctor show them and see what they say.

no. dont touch it otherwise they will get a tummy ache. its natural. im 10 right now and when i was 8, i still had it.

Use a Qtip and some water to see if you can clean it out. Belly buttons get dirty, and have to be cleaned just like everything else.

never never never use alcohol on ur baby. if you want to clean it, talk to your doctor about it first and then… if they say go ahead… use distilled water

Dont use alcohol. Use a little baby oil on a cotton ball (not a q tip) to gently rub around his belly button an hour or so before his bath. When he has his bath gently rub with a warm flannel after he has been in the bath for a few minutes. I wouldnt never poke around with a q tip.

no dont do it. we did that with our baby and it turn out it didnt want to come off. and it hurt her so we stopped doing it when she gets older it should soon be able to wipe off and it wont hurt her anymore cuz shes older.
