My son had a party and 2 minor girls (18 y/o) showed up and were ticketed for MIP’s?

They did not get the alcohol at my sons house and were outside but the police officer told him to call in the next 10 days to find out what to do. The officer never went in the house, the girls denied getting it from our son, and never gave him a ticket or any paperwork or phone number to call. Are there grounds to go after him?

I got an MIP and was the only minor there and nothing happened to anyone else that was there, unless the cop wants to be an a**hole then I’m sure he can make it happen.

If the officer “never gave him a ticket or any paperwork or phone number to call”, I would just ignore it (and next time any minors show up to one of his parties, he needs to make sure they do not have any alcohol with them, or, if they do, to immediately dump it).

“Going after him?” Why?

Your son was not ticketed or given a citation, that “give me a call in 10 days” (and not giving him the number to call) was just to scare him.

And yes your son was still responsible, even if the girls never went inside the house, and they brought their own alcohol, it’s still “his party” and “his responsibility” to make sure there is no underage drinking.

Besides, around the house is still part of his property and resposability.
