The other night, my son went to a rave with his friend, my friend who works at the rave place was on the phone with me said that my son drank some alcohol – free beer and he said not to be worried, should I be worried, though? My son is 15.

It depends a lot on how much he drank. If his body isn’t used to alcohol he might have got sick, which would have served him right.
If he thought he was cool for drinking, then you should be worried and may have to curb the raves for awhile. -

I don’t know any english-speaking countries where drinking any amount of alcohol in public is legal at 15 – also doesn’t one have to be 18 to go to a rave?
I’d also have a talk with your friend. Why are they even providing free beer to minors? -

All alcy’s start somewhere…by the time I was 15 I could polish off 3 40oz. Don’t be too hard on him though it was probably harmless experimenting. Just keep your eyes open from now on and watch him better.

I don’t know if everybody else is reading your question correctly.
Nyquil has more alcohol in it than regular beer, and non-alcoholic beer has such a small amount of alcohol in it that they are allowed to say it doesn’t contain any.
I wouldn’t worry about it.

thats yyour call i’d punish my underage kid if i caught him drinkin in my opinion 15 is way to young to many accidents.. uhh if hes at a rave i’d be more worrdied bout that MDMA that ectasy

no, kids will do that. however most rave places dont serve alcohol cuz they are usually all ages. if he is 15 i don tknow how he got in if alchol is served. a lot of kids at 15 and younger are trying harder drugs. its not like in the older days when they awere trying them at 18, 19, 20
talk to him about the dangers of how much drugs can mess up their brain and the legal issues. like if you get caught w/ one pill of ecstacy in albany ny its 1-7 yrs in prison. i know, i got caught w/ it i have a felony now. its not worth it. but kids will do what they are going to do, all u can do is educate them, be there for them and make them feel comfortable to come to you w/ anything, and not blow up on them if you dont like waht they say, also get them into somethign positive, a sport, hobby, martial arts, anything to keep their mind on something positive and healthy, good luck

OOOOOOooooohhhh! you mean non-alcoholic beer, not “free beer” indicating the type of alcohol…
Give him a good talking to. He will wonder how the h*ll you found out (as all children should wonder about their parents) and he will think twice before trying to get away with real mischief.
But don’t sweat the “near beer” experience- it may have taught him that he doesn’t like the taste.
