Otherwise he is a caring husband, good father and excellent son. We have been married for 12 years now and all my efforts for making him quit drinking have gone waste. He just doesn’t want to quit drinking and would never admit that he is drunk. It is now affecting his health also and he is losing interest in sex. Since past few years i have observed that he is not able to perform well in bed. He doesn’t want to listen to anything related with his drinking. But it is affecting our married life badly.

He loves the alcohol more than he loves his wife.
Tell him it is time for rehab or divorce.If you have kids it is affecting them in a negative way. -

You need to get your butt to an alanon (I always spell it wrong sorry) meeting. They will teach you how to live with an alcoholic. In AA we say that anyone that lives with an active drunk is sicker then the drunk. You will not be able to make him quit. He will only surrender to the drink when he is sick and tired of being sick and tired. And H.O.W. he quits is with honesty, open mindedness, and willingness. Nothing else will work. Do not get involved with his madness as much as you can. I would give him an ultimatum and tell him to go to AA. You might want to attend an open meeting with him the first couple of times. Look in the phone book and see if you can find an AA meeting near you. Then call them at noon, 1:00, 5:30, 7:00, or 8:00 that is when most AA meetings are held. Talk to someone there and ask them to tell the schedule. If you don’t do this for yourself he will take you down with him. Misery loves company. And, if the man takes the drink the drink will take him.

I feel sorry for you, its not late, you have task to handle. Get a counselor for him and get him rehabilitated. Let him understand your concerns and fears about his health and his responsibilities. Sit him around and make him feel that something wrong is actually happening.
Face the reality down the hill task and God will do something. Have faith that will move mountain and changes would happen.have a peaceful day, wow!

I bet he is not a good father, husband and son if he drinks like that everyday. That means he is missing his life. Lady, time to wake up and move on. If he won’t listen, then leave him. Maybe that will make him listen, but its time to get the hell out.

Unless he wants to stop drinking…he wont. SHOW him that your not going to be in a marriage with a drunk and leave him for a few days, weeks, months. He then will make his decisions known…If he wants his family he will do the right thing.

better have a family trip to highly spritual place in which he has strong belief and spend some quality time there and if found some change make it part of ur routine.u can consult any psychologist who can talk 2 him in friendly way in disguise and try 2 persue him 2 throw the habit.If he is a good son then his parents might have influence on him nad he can go for routine mecal checkups frequently and often disclosing his habit and efffects will surely made him 2 think.u can bring children also in ur talks but very coolely.u can stop having ssex with him on pretext that under influence of alcohol he is not performong well and stick 2 this and persue him 2 have without drink

If a person consistently consumes more than 23 units of alcohol (23 beers or equivalent) a week then he has a alcohol related problem.
It appears that your husband is somewhat past this mark and his problem requires professional intervention.
Your husband is in denial re his problem which is a trademark of all alcoholics, as is his sexual drive decline. This reinforces the need for urgent help.
Very few alcoholics stop drinking on their own and remain sober.
Remember, most people view this as a medical problem and as such a medical/rehab solution is the only way to go.
Things will get perpetually worse if no form of rehab is initiated and concluded.
I would give him an ultimatum rehab or out- as harsh as this seems it is good advice. -

time for an intervention. call your local AA group and explain your situation and they may be able to help you with an intervention. he may not have a problem he may have a disease alcoholism. im sure AA will be able to help you with all the information dealing with this. so sorry to hear that your husband has a problem.
