I believe you are a troll. Non-alcoholic grape juice is used for Communion.

For some reason churches don’t have to follow a lot of laws. I’m surprised no one has done anything about it yet

Add it to the list of messed up things the catholic church does to kids. I’m sure there’s a class action suit you can get in on somewhere.
Edit: to the posters that said it was surely grape juice: In the Catholic church, it is, in fact wine. Yes, the kids getting their first communion at 9 are drinking real wine.

You can sue the church if you want to, but you’d be throwing away a lot of money. Otherwise I just suggest you not allow your son to drink wine.

why was your 6 year old even participating? i thought you had to be 7 or 8 to receive holy communion… besides, where were you? if you didn’t want your child to drink you could easily have said no or stopped it.

See, I always thought that that was a right of passage for a Catholic kid.
Sort of a Papist bar-mitzvah, if you will.

so, what are the damages? you can have the priest arrested maybe, but you have no grounds for a lawsuit.

That’s the priests fault and partly yours for not asking and also letting him drink the wine. Plus if your child gets drunk from a sip of wine that is something the priest can not predict. Don’t sue the church before talking to the priest about it. It was a mistake were human he isn’t going to be a drinker in fact this experience might keep him away from alcohol.

That is highly unlikely. I smell troll.

are you sure it was real wine? and how much did he drink?
before you jump to conclusions, disect the situation with all the small details

Churches are permitted by law to give small amounts of wine to minors for religious ceremonies; unless they were negligent and gave him more than the usual congregant drinks, you probably won’t successfully sue them.

Your troll probation has officially been revoked. Report back to the main lobby and wait for the officer to arrive.

And where were you? Doing the chicken dance on top of a table?
