I’m not a doctor, but your story hit a spot with me. My ex husand died from being an alcoholic at 33. He was only really bad with the drinking for about 1 1/2-2 years. I know other people who seem to be 60 yrs. old and have drank everyday (alot) their whoelfe life. It doesn’t seem fair that he died at 33, where other alcoholics are still kicking alot older. His levels would all get high (sorry, I don’t know the numbers), and he’d go into detox at the hospital, then on to a treatment center. He’d always bounce back somehow. But, one time he didn’t. He was taken to the hospital, then sent to another, bigger one because it was that serious. He started not to be able to breathe on his own, so they had to put him on a ventilator, which meant they also put him “under” with meds because he was fighting it. They were never able to get his levels back up. I’m not saying this to scare you, but to give you a truthful experience and example. I don’t know why some people go on so long drinking, and others it seems to take not a long time at all. Maybe it’s genetics partially???? I hope your son gets help and is okay.
