Know the feeling, and along with drinking comes women to drink with. 12 years is about the right time for men to want to wander. He will have to choose his drinking and running around or you if you are ever to be happy and for your family to be normal. It will not happen.

I’m afraid that I think when he is drinking so much that it is likely that he is cheating. When he is drinking his inhibitions will go down and even if he would never do it when he was sober he may cheat.

It definitely sounds like he needs counselling. And perhaps you could get couple counselling. Changing will require him to make some tough decisions and with a possible addiction seeking professional help would be wise.

The other thing is, no matter what you have put up with in the past, you cannot put up with it anymore. You have two small boys and they are your main responsibility. Please don’t let them have to deal with this kind of adult problem. You need to be an example to them and show them that you can be a strong mother.

I believe the first thing is to talk to your husband and lay down some ground rules. Simple things may be that he must always text you and say where he is or that a friend of his will let you know. Tell him it is wearing on you that you don’t know.
If he can’t do a simple thing like that then you can’t expect him to obey some of the harder ones, like coming home at night.

Stop hiding behind the curtain and open your eyes. You have been wasting your young years with someone that has no future. His future is going to the bars and staying out until he feels he’s had enough of binging. So, then what happens his wife just takes him back over and over again. It’s a pattern. These boys are learning daddy’s ways. Hopefully they won’t pick up this terrible habit of drinking and of course staying out late when they finally become adults and have their own spouse. Evie dear you need to cut the cord sweet heart enough is enough…he ain’t going anywhere close to a therapy too busy chugging down.
