I think the law is quite silly when it comes to alcohol. I just want some opinions, should I give my son a couple of beers? He’s 18 and worked hard enough so I think he deserves it.

go for it, in a lot of states its legal for a parent to let a minor drink a responsible amount in the privacy of your own home
Why not he is an adult. I’m pretty sure if he’s 18 he’s already encountered drinking at parties and stuff like that
well if he’s 18 its legal in the uk, but u must be from the US i would think its fine just a few beers
ya i mean hes not a child anymore
Yes.
my dad let me have beer and smirnof at my cousins bonfire a month ago.. so yeah
im 14
Yes.
I wish my parents were like you, I’m 18 and they wont let me because of the law and they don’t believe they should. I work hard and I am mature, so I definitely would like a little reward or relaxation time, not get drunk, but a buzz. Plus if they allow us to join the army at the age of 18 and die for our country (Iraq), then why aren’t we allowed to drink.
I would say if he worked hard enough give it to him.
It depends on your local laws. Where I live any minor can have alcohol if they are supervised by parent, spouse or guardian. The law does not specifiy a lower limit. In fact it is legal to take your child to a restaurant or bar and have them drink (although all the ones I know will not serve them). But it all depends on the local laws.
When I was 18 the drinking age was 18.
When my son was 13 I gave him scotch (and made him drink it, even after I warned him). When he turned 18 I had a keg party for him and his friends (and yes they were supervised). He never got into trouble for drinking, and even today he does not participate in binge drinking.
When I was stationed in Germany I saw teens drinking in the same places I was, legally.
I know 14 year old children that are responsible enough to drink. I know 35 year old adults that are not, and do anyway.
I hate to burst everyone’s bubble but it is illegal inside the United States, (and in all states) to provide a minor with an alcoholic beverage, even if that minor is your son. Legally your not allowed to do it at a restaurant or even in the privacy of your own home. With that being said, I support parents introducing their children to alcohol at an earlier age than 21. The United States stance towards drinking is not helping to foster a healthy or informative environment about beer wine and spirits, and the number of cases of alcohol poisoning has been steadily increasing over the years. If your more concerned about the law, than withhold your urges. If your more concerned for the safety and well being of your son than give him a beer…just don’t invite his friends over to partake in the fun.
18????!!! Definitely. Here in Puerto Rico 18 is the legal age. But I know what you mean cause I went into military service when I was 17. It was kind of dumb that they would let me fix fighter jets and go to war but not have a beer. Plus, if he’s going to get it from someone, who better than you???
if he dosent get stupid about it then absolutely
Every state has different laws on parents giving their children alcohol at home. If it’s illegal in your state, you can find yourself in jail.
yeah he deserves it the law is silly i agree you can fight in the war but cannot drink legally.
