I havent seen the movie in a while, so I dont remember if Mel smoked, but generally if the parent does, they dont care if the kid does. Plus theres not really anything they can do, if the kid wants to smoke, he’ll smoke.

and she did care he did coke.. it shows you a flashback were hes in the kitchen doing coke, and then they broke up. he stopped doing coke when they got back together

Mel is also an ex cocaine addict.. or is it crack. Idk, but Brady doesnt do that anymore, thats why she took him back. & she did care that Mason smokes pot, but that was the least of her problems because weed isnt at bad as other drugs. Mason was also alot older then Tracy.. as she was only 13.
