Who has legal custody of the baby? If it is the mother then stop by their house,
load up the baby's stuff and take the baby and mother to your house. They can't stop her or you. Then help the mother find another place to live. Parents will have to go to
court in order to gain custody of the child and as long as one or both of you are fit
parents the grandparents don't stand a snowball's chance in hades.

Rights?!?!? YOU ARE THE FATHER. YOU and your girlfriend have ALL THE RIGHTS. Why don't you get your own place and support your family? I agree with you. A child should not be subjected to this dysfunctional family. I really wish you would have kept your pants zipped. That way none of this would be an issue.

You need a lawyer. Do you live at home? You should be discussing this with your parents. How do they feel about you bring the child into your home. Are you still seeing the baby's mother? If you have court ordered visitation rights then her parents can't keep you from seeing the child. Are you providing support for your child? Get busy and man up.

Its a mess. When minors play the adult world, they make their lives more than complex. A 16-year-old minor is legally responsible to her parents in most states. Not to you. She can tell you that she loves you, she can have sex irresponsibly if she wants but at the end of the day the courts will charge the parents for her responsibility. I recall a girl who got angry with her parents and ran away to stay with friends. She got in trouble and the court charged the parents that it was their responsibility to go get the girl and take her home. The judge explained that a minor does not have the right to make such a decision.

Questions of this nature should not be answered on a yahoo posting. You need facts, not opinions. Seek out a lawyer whose expertise is in family law and ask him this question. You need to know what the law has to say about this situation. Many lawyers will counsel with you for a modest $50.00 fee. Good luck.

you need to get that baby away from the situation. You have right with your child because you are the father. if they press charges or anything to that extent it won't hold because mom doesn't want the child and her parents are stable.. You have the upper hand.. but that child doesn't need to be in that situation it will only hurt the child in the long end

Talk to a social service agency. Your baby sounds like he/she is being abused. Maybe not physically but certainly in his living conditions and environment. You do have rights. Use them. If you make some enemies, so be it. The baby comes first. Make some waves and get him/her out of there and into your loving care. Good luck.

Legally you are an adult and you are the baby's father you can fight to keep the baby in your home but that means you have to work and she obviously can come and see the child right? Try to get her to get out of that situation like living with a family member permanently and getting a job and continuing schooling and having time for your baby as well. Talk to your parents and ask if they can help. If you bring up the fact that the parents are alcoholics and they don't have a stable home then you can get te baby removed from the situation i believe.

I wish you the best of luck !
