Just asking because i go to a alternative school ( cause i got in trouble ) and i see alot of kids that look like they come to school out of it and sh!t like that do u think thats right. HTF cann u let your child hurt there life like that with stupid sh!t continously like that?? I dont do drugs i would thinks its proaly the most overated ga*est thing to get into nowa days. I would probably bust the breaks off my childs a** if i found him doing smoking drugs rather than alchol unless he was doing the big time alchol ( like ill probably not be as hard if he was doing beer or what not ) but the thing about smoking drugs it accumalates more. Stuff like bar alchols arent as bad to me its a way lesser image. I dont think that sh** is attractive for girls to do it thats a fu**in turn off to me. Yah it probably is a rush and you probably get a good fu**** up filling from it but at what expense? I think these parents need to stop being bit*** and crack down on this sh** how about yall?
Lmao satin yes there is a way to stop you i know that lol. I bet a good beat down from highly strick or disciplinary parents will help or even boot camp. Usually the kids that say that the parents cant really do anything to stop it is the parents that havent seen physical or ” breakdown” disiplinary action at work. I havent been to boot camp but just imagine it as a freakin alternative school with a drill sargent lol i bet that will get you right. No one cant be brokendown disciplinarly expecially when things get personal and stuff gets serious as hell.

As much as I agree with you, I, too, am a pothead and I get my good high at an expense. I love the feeling I when I do it. I get with a group of friends (also potheads) and we laugh and talk and have a good time. We are very mellow when we are stoned. We use to do it before, during, and after school. Our parents know, they just don’t really mind it, cause they know they can’t stop us. Some like it some don’t. Thats just the way it is and parents have to deal with it. Like it or not.

Very intreging linguistics, like an art almost…Hmmm… Uhh, I would go with the beat em with the rod style as that is biblical, you can beat it out of them young, firm disipline starting young is key. The Bible is NEVER wrong, so thats a good place to start.
Your thinking of drugs seems slightly off base. Alcohol is responsible for more death and is more destructive then drugs, DRUGS ARE HORRIBLE, but keep your priorities straight. Perhaps you haven’t been effected horribly from alcohol, but statistically it is the killer.

I would be angry with him for doing such a stupid, wasteful act. However, I would be as disappointed in myself for not teaching him well enough to stay away from that junk. Likely, I would be pi$$ed at first, but that would give way to mild anger and major disappointment.

BTW: I’m a father of four, and, no, I’ve never touched any controlled substances. I barely have a beer once per year.

I think it is good to explain some of the draw backs of drugs. I think it is important to get mad and even cry if you find your kid doing drugs and explain how you fell about it to them. The fact is young people often get involved in DRUGS. I have seen it all over the world. It can cause permanant damage( i have seen). It can cause death ( i have lost friends). It can lead to you getting hep-C and HIV ( i have seen my freind deal with this). Drugs are just wierd and it is imposible to really know where it will lead you. I have known people who made 30,000 $ a week in the drug biz. I have seen record companies grow big because of it. I know that many people in college use DRUGS its almost unaviodable. The better the college the better the drugs. Alot of people get through it just fine. I would not want my son to use drugs to get to girls.
I think it is sad how easy it is to get a girl in bed by the use of drug maniputation.

Actually, what tends to happen is that kids follow the lead of their parents. It often doesn’t seem that such is the case until you look closely. Parents who are not connected or engaged with their kids are setting an example; the kids will think nobody cares, and will be easily led by any friends they have. If their friends lead them to drugs, so be it.

Discipline isn’t just beatings and punishment. Discipline is also constant guidance. It’s like flying: it’s a lot easier to make constant small course corrections than it is to suddenly pull on the yoke to avoid hitting a mountain. If you are constantly involved with your kids, checking their homework, knowing who they hand out with, and not afraid to talk about tough subjects, they will always come to you for help. You can’t fool them; they know when someone is conning them, and when it’s genuine.

Having raised a kid to adulthood, I can say it’s not an easy ride. You will find out a lot about yourself, lots of which you would rather not know. But it’s worth it. And when you find out something bad like a drug habit, don’t get mad at the kid, but deal with the problem. That’s what love is all about. Don’t beat them down just because they have chosen badly. Instead, figure out how to get them out of the problem. I’m not saying no punishiment, but instead of beatings, take away the cell phone, the car, and ground them.
