Just wondering. You see my boyfriend left me for a chick that seems to keep him under the influence of something… so everytime I try to call him about our son he is just too beligerant to care. So I was wondering if I could pop them and put an end to all that? Maybe he’d have to take drug/alcohol classes?

he would have to take classes but you could get them in trouble. He would pry go to jail though so I don’t know what you would do about your son. Yes that is illegal.

Who has custody of the son? You, right? Then don’t let that loser near your child till he sobers up. One day, and it may be a decade from now, he’ll sober up and take an interest in his child. I think every man reaches that age. But he’s still a little boy (Your ex, that is). He’ll come to you. Make him earn it. Don’t expose your child to a drunk, belligerent type unless you want your son to be like him.

Assuming this is the US, since you mentioned 21…
Depends on your location or state.
In the US, some states have exemptions for parents and legal-age spouses to provide alcohol for the children/spouse thats not legal, but I have never seen any rules for girlfriend providing. I would guess its just classed as contributing to the delinquincy of a minor.

Sounds like “sour grapes” to me. Get over it. He’s going to be 21 in a short time and he’ll do what he wants to then anyway. I doubt the cops will get involved just because “you” are bitter over the break up.

Why don’t you just try talking to him?
It would be better than him having problems with the police, it really wouldn’t be good for him and his son’s relationship.

Contributing to Minors is a misdemeanor punishable by fines, probation, and possibly jail time if a prior record exists. It varies from state to state, as does any crime.
If I were you I’d be talking to the police about child support etc.

“Much” trouble is like “kind of Pregnant”. Breaking the law is breaking the law. Doesn’t matter if you are 5 years old or 20 years, 364 days, the person is still underage to buy/own/consume alcohol.
You can get her in trouble and everyone else is right. He needs a wakeup call because he doesn’t seem to know the difference between “Father” and “Dad.”

Yes, she can get in trouble. He is considered a minor and it is illegal for him to drink alcohol. She would be the one who goes to court and gets in trouble because she gave alcohol to a minor. I don’t think she would take in drug/alcohol classes but maybe! I don’t know how you would get them in trouble but you can try!
