I am an 18 year old female; I am also 32 weeks pregnant. The father of the child (Jule) wants to take me to court because we broke up and I told him he needed to get a job and do something with himself to see his kid.
I was 17 years old and Jule was 21 when I got pregnant, My birthday is 04/22/1988 his is 12/01/1984.
Jule lives with his parents (Paul and Diane), who are alcoholics, and his father smokes both weed and crack. Jule has been in and out of CYF, his brother (Steve) does heroin in the house where he also lives, and his other brother (Bryan) is in jail for murdering his girlfriend. There house has bugs, barley has food because his parents prefer to spend their earned money on alcohol.
I’m worried because he has threatened to kill me once and himself on a bunch of occasions. This is not the type of father I want for my son.
Jule doesn’t even know how to hold a baby everything is already bought for my son crib, dressers, etc. Not one thing was bought by the father… he doesn’t even have a job.
What can I do?

Why the hell did you get pregnant by someone who is a loser?
Do you have relatives in another town? Maybe it would be best to just move, i wouldnt count on this turkey for any kind of support.

go to the police or the best thing to do is move out of your town…you can have a clean start and a new future in front of you someplace else!!!

That’s real odd that he wants to take you to court. For one thing he was involvef in an an illegal relationship { Statutory rape} caus you were 17. If he threatens you in any way, get a protection order, this guy sounds like a total loser, forget about him, and live your life. It doesn’t sound like he has anything to take you to court with, he’s the one who could get in trouble! Good luck!

Not much you can do. I don’t see how he could take you to court, what is he trying to sue you for? I think this is just an empty threat. You are going to have to spend your time and energy raising and supporting your child. You won’t have time to try to fix your baby’s father. You might try taking him to court for child support, but if he has no job and makes nothing, all you will get is an order that can not be enforced. It seems like your best bet is to get help from your family. I don’t know what your situation is with them because you never mentioned them.

And yet you chose to become pregnant by him…It amazes me how horrible an individual becomes in the eyes of an ex yet they weren’t all these things when you were with them. The point i am trying to make is he is the father whether you like it or not and legally you do not have the say of whether or not he can see his child because he doesn’t have a job. What you can do is have plenty of supervision when he is with the child. Also there will come a time when you are 50% responsible for the finances of raising this child. Would you like someone to denie you the right to see your child because you are unable to find a job. I agree that the both of you need to start acting like adults you both chose to make an adult decision so don’t start the blame game now!

this doesnt sound like a good situation…unfortunately you sound headed for single motherhood. if the father has threatened to kill you than you should see what you can do to minimize your contact with him. as painful and difficult as it sounds you may want to consider that since you will most likely be raising your child yourself, doing what you can to get full custody of your child so that your decisions remain your own as much as possible. he sounds like the type of guy who enjoys maing his babymommas life as difficult as possible because he can. at teh very least, start documenting all difficulties now and keep it up as it sounds like you are spending a lot of time i n family court for the next 18 years.

Ok sounds like you got a catch NOT!!! Let him take you to court because if you can prove one or all the things you just said the judge will rule in your favor! Get a restraining order so he cant near you your baby or your family! Try moving if you can to get away if hes threatened you and has that type of background with his family they may not be empty threats!! Just be careful cautious and make sure that your baby always cums first!! If he does force the issue you may be able to throw in that you were a minor when you guys started having sex and he knew that it may or may not help but you can give it a try! Remember anything to protect you and your unborn baby. GOOD LUCK sweetie!!!!!

oh you poor child move away hunny get a dog and get him trained .show up for court as much as you dont want to do it if not they coul take the baby from you get it to him without an investigation on him . call cps and get thim to go to there house and check it out tell cps your case and tell them everything ok tell them your scared for you and the babies protection there going to give a case number and keep safe youll need it get a shotgun and a permit keep it with you . and have a cop patrol to your home as much as they can and another thing keep a big and strong man with you and all times someone who can talk to you and comfort you and the baby ok hun if you need anything my number is 8322777835 my name is lucy ok im aarons wife

My heart broke as I read your question. No wonder you are so concerned for your baby’s health and safety. You are so young to be dealing with this. I hope you have some supportive people in your life. Parents, siblings, someone.

First, until your baby is born there isn’t anything anyone can “do.” And Jule has NO CLAIM to your baby until paternity is established. That cannot be done until after the baby is born. You need to seek legal advice before your baby is born. Here in NYS many attorneys offer the first visit/consultation for free. You need to start documenting what you have told us here. The environment in which Jule and his family live is certainly no place for a baby. Ask the attorney about filing for custody once the baby is born. Also, if your ex is to have visitation it should be supervised by someone other than you, but with you present. You aren’t going to be able to protect yourself from him. You may want to consider not filing for child support. The reason I say that is that it doesn’t sound like it will be safe. Social Services would call it “Good Cause” for not filing.

Jule sounds like a very dangerous man. Another thing to discuss with your attorney is getting a restraining order/order of protection against Jule. From what you say I get the sense that Jule has done more than threaten to kill you. That he has abused you in other ways. The hospital should be made aware of your concerns prior to you going into labor. They can ensure that no one can take your baby except you.
