I had 5 shots last night of 99 blackberries, its 90 proof. 2 AM is about when I took my last shot. If I use a breast pump how many times should I pump & throw out the milk before its safe to give to my son again?

Do not regulate throwing out milk with the ability to drink….just don’t drink
you shouldnt drink if you breast feed, cause no one ever knows… a little alcohol, can be too much still and can give the baby alcohol syndrome.
why would you even do that???
you know that you cant drink alcohol while breastfeeding, that is so ignorant of you.
youre a bad mother.
grow up!!
You better wait a week. I called a specialist and she said that 1 beer a day wouldn’t go to the baby, but even that is a little scary for me.
You should not drink at all while breastfeeding, what kind of mother gets hammered till 2AM with an infant at home? Please wake up and take some parenting classes.
If you’re sober enough to be typing this, you are sober enough to be nursing. Alcohol isn’t stored in your milk, so you don’t have to pump and dump. Your milk is fine. (YOU may not feel so well, but your milk is fine.)

I think you are fine to go ahead and breastfeed.
Wow, some of you people are jerks. Even mommies need to chill out and have a good time once in a while.
… And everyone complains about teenagers being bad parents?
Theres many adults out there who are more irresponsible.
I don’t know how old you are, but that’s very irresponsible of you, you can’t drink while breastfeeding !
I just read a bunch of articles on this topic and they all said the same thing: pumping does not speed the removal of alcohol from your milk. You just have to give your body time to metabolize it. If it’s out of your system, the milk is safe.
Well pumping and dumping doesn’t do anything. Alcohol is in your breastmilk as long as it is in your blood. If you are feeling it, your baby is getting it. Read this article:

I drink wine every once in awhile and I am breastfeeding. The only reason to pump while drinking is to relieve yourself. Big deal that you had some drinks as long as you had someone else to take care of your child and you had a bottle of breastmilk for your baby to eat if you are not yet ready to breastfeed.
Alcohol is evenly distributed in your body, including your milk. So if you have alcohol in your body, you will transfer it to your son.
However, you may have something like 0.05% in your body if you had a blast last night.
It goes without saying that if your sons milk contains 0.05% alcohol he will be just fine. He might end up with maybe 0.0005% in his blood which is close to nothing.
Again, even if you have some alcohol in your blood/milk, your son will not have the same level in his blood just because he drinks some milk.
Edit: It’s amazing to see that some of you moms lack the skill to realize simple math. Ok, I will simplify this. Imagine you get a big glass of liquid which contains 0.05% alcohol, do you really think you will feel it? Again 0.05% alcohol, compare this with a medium strength beer 3%. The milk is 60 times less strong!
I don’t know if pregnancy alters logic but just do the math yourself.
Whenever you sober up, the milk is generally safe. As a rule I always pump & dump after I drink, then it’s fine after that.
Probably shouldn’t be shooting 5 shots with a baby at home. Your tolerance is obviously high but your babies it not. The general rule is 1 hour per drink.
good luck
