hi
i`m going into 8th grade this september,
i`m 13, and i was wondering a few questions
for people who have expierenced taking care of a baby think it over doll

1. do you get stuck w/ the ethnicity& gender your teacher gives you, or do you get to pick the ethnicity and the gender of the realcare doll ?

2. do you get to name your doll?

3. what do you get w/ doll, like clothes, etc, ?

4. how long do you get to care for the baby, or does that depend on the school, ex: 3 days, 1 week, etc ?

5. do you get to choose the drug addicted baby/ alcohol diseased baby, or not?

6. how long are they, and how much do they weigh?

7. are they plastic, and do they move, or what?

ahh sorry for all the questions, i just never did anything like this, i have a choice to do it or not, but im going to choose to do it, cause i love babies & i take care of my baby nephew every day, every night

ps. i`d get a causcasian male or female
what should i name it?

1. Whatever the teacher gives you is what you get. My schools dolls were all white and had brown eyes. We only had 2 dolls and they were both boys. So we didn’t get to pick gender.

2. Yes, you get to name your doll.

3. You will get these keys that you stick into the doll to stop it from crying. You can use your old baby clothes from when you were younger, or your doll clothing. The baby just comes with a diaper. You can also use your blankets and stuff.

4. It depends how long your school has it set up for. I think it’s normally about 2-3 days.

5. Um. It depends on the school has it set up and stuff…all up to your teacher. Normally don’t get to pick.

6. They are just like normal babies. I’m guessing 10 lbs and 17 inches.

7. They move, they cry, they pee themselves and they are made of a really neat plastic.

—You can name it whatever you want. Many people picked simple names like Michael, Christopher and Jordan. You can name it whatever you want though.

Okay so I had one this year… Remember that what my school did might not be what your school does.
1. We drew cards for what gender our baby was and then we got to fight with everyone for what ethnicity.
2. I got to name mine. Her name was Emma
3. You will get 2 diapers a bottle and a wristband for sure. They come with a onesie but my school gave us other clothes and a car seat for the baby.
4. I had mine for one weekend
5. We only had normal babies
6. They weight about 7 pounds and are about a foot long… They are just like real babies
7. They are plastic and they dont move. They do cry when they need something (btw they have diferent cries for what they need.. After a little while you can tell what they need just from the cry). They either need to be fed (you need to hold the bottle to its mouth and then they will need to be burped (just pat the babys back until you hear a burp) also they can eat for a long time, they can need to be changed so you will switch the diaper (the diaper isnt dirty or anything but there is a sensor so it knows if you really changed the diaper) or its just fussy so you need to rock it. Also sometimes theyll start to coo.

Good luck… Taking care of that baby was really hard so I suggest you have someone there to help out and to take over when you want to throw it out the window. And beware you will get some dirty looks from people who think its a real baby. If you have any other questions just message me

They’re usually all the same ethnicity. You’re stuck with whatever gender the teacher gives you.

Yup, you can name it whatever you want.

Bottle, diapers, stuff like that. No clothes at my school.

Depends on the school.

Not that I’ve heard of, I don’t think they make those.

They are as big as a real baby.

1. We got to pick the ethnicity, but not the gender in our school. She flipped a coin for gender.

3. We got a car seat, diaper bag, extra diaper, and bottle. It was already wearing clothes and a diaper.

4. I only had to for one night, but you could take it for a weekend.

5. What? That wasn’t even included in ours. I’m not even sure what you’re talking about.

6. They are the size of a newborn. About 20 inches and 8 pounds?

7. They are plastic and you can move their arms and legs, but they don’t move themselves.

we had to birng those things home for my parenting class. ha i picked to write a report over taking the doll home.

you get to pick the gender and ethnicity and the model you want. my school had a new and older model. the old one was about $250 and the newer one was about $450. the only difference was that with the older dolls you had to scan the key over the stomach where as with the newer dolls you would just put the key into the back. also the older dolls heads went back easier.

i didnt want to bring it home so i didnt get to name one but yea you do

with my school you get a car seat, diaper bag, 2 cloth diapers, bottle, clothing, blankets, the breast feeding thingy and we even had a stoller

one night or over the weekend. i knew kids that signed up for like 3 days and after the frst day they brought it back and said it drove them crazy

um my school didnt say any thing about those

like a baby that is a couple months old. when i picked one up it was heavier than i thought it would be.

they arent plastic. they feel kinda like a rubber or a doll. they dont move but their heads do go back if they are not supported.

also they are modeled after real babies. you pick what scheldule you want based on a real baby and your doll will cry as much as the real baby and pretty much do what ever that really baby did. theres like 13 to pick from. the doll is a sensor so you dont have real diapers. they are cloth but the backs get read once they are hooked onto the back. and they come with a key that you have to put into the sensor before you can take care of the baby.. the sensor on the newer dolls is right above their buts and with the older dolls the stomach is the sensor. they are set so they are on for 24 hours at a time. they scream really loud when they want to.. have fun
