Your son needs a wake up call. I was on your daughter in law’s side till you said she is a user. I can see how hard that is to watch. Your son needs to get real and fix his family. If he doesn’t there isn’t much you can do without contacting social services.

i understand, totally. my sister in law is a complete whore. She doesnt clean her kids, feed them properly. etc. all the clothes are too small for him. ( my nephew) i hate the way we bought him an england kit at the start of the world cup, and she put it on him once. Which cost a lot of money, we got him the full england kit, socks, and little england trainers. Complete whore she is. your helping her, tell her to get a life! Shes disrespectful and also sounds like a whore.

I never really appreciated the whole MIL thing until I had son’s … as much as we know that as a mother our job is to be made redundant … we also hope that we will remain an important part of the family they choose for themselves.
I certainly want to be a big part of my grandchildren’s lives and also a valued and respected person to my DIL’s…sadly, your DIL is not in a position to help herself and unless your son is able to initiate this help then the priority needs to be your granddaughter’s … a 5 & 6 year old watching mom self-destruct and the message this sends them is reason enough for you to take matter’s into your own hands … respect is a 2 way street and it is something that is earn’t … your DIL neither shows it or earns it!!
