HELP!! My children are in a very bad environment, there is drug use alcohol abuse and more?

one of my sons has already been coerced into stealing for his moms, cousins, aunts drug habits. The police are involved and even social services, juvenile services and schools have been notified. I am trying everything i can do to get my children (twin boys age 15) out of this environment and now this family is talking about moving and taking my children with them as things heat up. Any group that i have not thought of or that i could contact to help expedite this from happening would be great information.
I am the father and i have already contacted social services and juvenile service. I have not contacted a lawyer because i can not afford one.

Get a lawyer and file for custody. Due to the current issue the lawyer may even be able to get a temporary order for custody until a final order is issued.

Is this the mother, or a foster family?

Sounds like you are trying everything, but I’ll mention somethings ijn case you haven’t tried the,

1.)Report this to social services.

See if you can get any police reports or court documents related to your children. Give copies to Social Services.

2.) Hire a lawyer and fight for custody. Bring police reports and court documents from the criminal cases to court with you. Ask for custody, and ask for an emergency order to stay in the state.
See if you can talk a social services person or cop into being a witness for you. (You probably won’t be able to, but there’s no harm in asking.

3.) Is there a probation officer involved? If so, tell them about the plans to leave the state.

EDIT: In most areas there are lawyers that will represent poor people for free. Look up “pro bono family lawyers” or “Legal Aid” and the name of your state in google, and in the yellow pages. If your son has a lawyer for his criminal case, he might be able to reccomend one. The social worker might be able to reccomend one. (Be sure to mention to her that you want custody).
IF you are good at research and bureaucracy AND can stay calm when you know someone is lying, you could try to represent yourself in court. Search amazon.com for books on representing yourself in family court (or on divorce) in your state. Go to a local university library and see if they have books on the subject. Ask the court clerks for advice on what form you need to fill out. (They can’t give legal advice, but there is a fine line between legal questions and bureaucratic ones, so phrasing is important).

Once again, is the family the kid is with a foster family, or the mother’s family?
