All I remember is:
-small town, barn with hay
-mother(alcoholic?) of two grown up and handsome sons, one has mental illness. The mother have sex with him. At the end of the film he hanged himself.
-a girl is in love with the other son.
Dunno about two sons, but I remember one small town film where the mother had broken her leg, and the son looked after her day to day. He tries to start a relationship with a girl but it goes wrong. After he and his mum get drunk one night and have sex, he tries to hang himself…’Spanking the Monkey’ (1994)…?

As poster kalied has pointed out this does sound like the movie Spanking the Monkey. If its not that it is probably Bad Boy Bubby.
