I’m sure it’s fine. It’d be no different than your husband sneaking sips of a 7-11 slushy in my opinion if there’s no alcohol.

if you want a cranky baby coming down off a sugar high there is a lot of sugar in those mixes isn’t it just as easy to give him some 100% fruit juice or milk why expose a baby to junk like that.

Even if there’s no alcohol in it, the margarita mix is still pretty much pure sugar, so there’s absolutely no nutritional benefit to it. Like juices and sodas, it can lead to tooth decay when consumed frequently and without proper dental protocol. Even 100% juices are mostly sugar with some added vitamin C. They’re pasteurized, so all the nutrients and antibodies are destroyed. It’s far better to just give him a piece of fruit, or a frozen fruit smoothie. That way, he gets the fiber, nutrients, enzymes, amino acids, and antibodies.

ETA: Like I said, those margarita mixers are pretty much the same thing as juice – even 100% juice. It’s just sugar water. We’re fooled into thinking that 100% juice is healthier than soda or fruit flavored drinks, but it’s really not much better. All the good stuff is killed off in the pasteurization process. It’s far better to eat real fruit or make a frozen fruit smoothie. Here’s a recipe you can use.

1 orange, peeled and sectioned
1 banana, peeled and sliced
1 handful of frozen fruit, like peaches, strawberries, and blueberries

Put all the fruit in a blender, add a little water if you need some extra liquid, and mix until smooth. It tastes great, and you get all the good stuff from the fruit since it’s fresh. You can add milk or yogurt, too. You can use a smoothie mix like that for a margarita mix, too, for the grown ups. I’ve done it before, and it makes the best margaritas I’ve ever had.

If there is no alcohol in it, I wouldn’t worry about it. I wouldn’t do it often, but once in a while it is fine.

There is probably the same amount of sugar in it as in a glass of juice.

ETA: Actually, there is quite a bit of sugar for 4 ounces, but again, as long as it is only a few sips once in a while, it is fine.
