Can anyone help me please?

My son is an alcoholic and his liver function is abnormal.He continues to drink and i’m watching him slowly kill himself.I was told that i can’t do anything about it because he is a functional alcoholic.He goes to work every day and he is’nt doing any harm to anyone but himeself. Is this true that i have no control?I can’t keep sitting back and watching him do this to himself.Can i help save his life?God please help me.

yeah talk to him tell him how you feel. how old is he and does he still live with you if not then its pretty much out of your hands and the only thing you could do is tell him he needs help.

Sorry to hear about your son. There is a… ‘Baker Act’… where by Two Adults can have him committed to an institution for a defined period.

Alcoholics sometimes need this radical action, ‘Tough Love’ to get then over the Hump.

Also the “Alcoholics Anonymous” have a Chapter in all of the 50-States and in Most Cities.

Look in the Yellow Pages, or search the internet.

yes you got no control. i think you should have posted this quetion in the religion part.

but you gotta talk to him. telll him how you feel. hold his hand. do research about alcohol. how it kills.

car accidents and etc..

but i guesss if youre a religious person you try to help him by that.
and yes (God please help me) its usually only god that can help people get over something like this.
get him to rehab. have him drink coke instead.

but i think you already know what you gotta do
